This place is simply amazing because of the wonderful staff, caring on site management, wonderful food service, incredible activities staff and remarkable PT. Granted they are at times understaffed as is every facility but when they are every person on the staff from the Executive Director down pitches in to help. The Executive Director [name removed] is remarkable they not only cared for our mom while she was there…they cared for us and did everything they could to make our stay exceptional. Horrible place for my grandma. They ignored her care constantly & nurses were very rude. Will not take any family member there ever again. Would highly NOT recommend.

This place needs to be shut down, my grandfather was here and the service is non-existent. The workers have a terrible attitude and no family member should be left in their care. Lots of show this place and zero action. They need to be reported to the health department for so much negligence.

My 87 year old Mother had a 4 week stay following a hip fracture. PT, OT, Speech Tx very good. Attractive new facility, but the building does not provide patient care. Poor staffing, unfriendly, unhelpful, sometimes rude staff. I was told once to go search for help down the other halls myself. Another time, the nurse told me she had 14 patients to medicate before she could help; she did not offer to find alternative help. I'm an RN myself and these responses by nurses was appalling. I found my Mom left in the dining room by herself two days after the hip surgery, she was trying to move herself; no one ever returned for her. Immediately post op, I was there 2 hours with her and no one checked on her, no one brought ice for her hip, they did not check on her in her room or offer her liquids, she was like a sack of potatoes left on her bed. I left messages for upper management regarding these happenings, but no response. While I was told NL staff would help with paperwork, appointment, and transportation, I did it all myself. There were activities, though I'm not sure staff made sure residents were transported to participate. Food was decent. The NPs were helpful; we did not have contact with the MD. Nursing and staffing always are the weak link in the care facilities. There is a lot of room for improvement. I would've expected excellence. I agree with review above; OK for a short stay if your loved one has good cognition and can communicate their needs.

My dad had a wonderful stay. I never thought I would be able to take him home again, but he's home now because of the great care the staff takes of their residents. I would recommend this place!

If your loved one’s mind is still semi-sharp, and it’s a temporary stay, this place is fine. The PT/OT is very good, the food is ok (ok is great in comparison to other places), and the staff is luke warm friendly enough. My mom can hit the red button all night long and make sure she gets the care she needs. Also, I’m in there every day pressing the flesh with aides, nurses, and admin staff. If: 1) my mom had serious cognitive issues; 2) It was a long term stay; 3) I wasn’t able to visit on almost a daily basis; I would look elsewhere.

I am visiting my God-Mother, it's 8:30 pm and [name removed], the [date removed] nurse on duty has yet to give my God-Mother her medicine. When I went out to inquire, she was sitting with [name removed] talking and playing on her phone. This is totally unacceptable!!! My God-Mother takes her medicine at 7:15-7:30 pm and it is now 8:27 pm. She has dementia and NEEDS to be on a schedule. I plan to call the Executive Director, [name removed] in the morning [date removed]. I am totally dissatisfied. Communication is poor. Don't bring your family members here! The staff is lazy, they don't communicate with family and the care is marginal. Glad my God-Mother is only here at Novi Lakes for rehab and for a short time.

My mother may die because her surgical wound is not being cared for. The house doctor is wonderful and insisted on cleanliness and changing of dressing but the staff didn’t follow through. As this is life-threatening now, we have to address this. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone.

A Place for Mom has scored Novi Lakes Health Campus 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
