It appears to be very well maintained. Staff has been great whenever I've had to contact them. And while it has nothing to do with the facility itself, the neighbors are the best. I'm not sure I have anything in mind that I would say I like least. It was the most reasonable priced place that we looked at, while still being well maintained.

I am currently a resident at Mountain Brook Village Senior Living and everything has been very good for me so far at this facility. The cleanliness and friendliness are good. The staff, activities and value for cost are also very good. I would recommend Mountain Brook Village Senior Living to family and friends. It is Independent Living only, no Assisted Living.

would recommend for Independent seniors.
They have stopped all meals and all assisted living and skilled care just as I need to maybe move my mom along to assisted care. I'm likely going to have to look for somewhere else for her. It's now just an Independent Living Senior Community. They no longer provide any services outside occasional social opportunities.

Situation up in the air at present. The assisted living section is being closed May 1st. Dining room services to be discontinued. On the plus side, renovations are being planned for the rest of the complex. Still offering rides to medical appointments also trips to grocery store every other week. Will be interested to see how everything shakes out.

They've been very helpful. If there's any problem, they're pretty quick about getting to it. And the apartment is fine. It just needs a little updating. All in all, I would recommend it.

I would mention that if they are on the borderline or unsure of independent living. The staff doesn't have the patience for those with the extra care.

The office has been shut down quite a bit recently because of covid scares. because of those covid scares, there are no activities going on right now so there is nothing to do - the residents are only able to go get their mail for about an hour a day and that is it.

friendly staff and beautiful environemnt
For us we really like that Mountainbrook is individually owned so it just seems way more personable then a cooperate community. They do have activities going on all day long up until dinner but after dinner there is nothing. We haven't eaten a meal there ourselves but our loved one seems to enjoy it. The value for the money is good and we would recommend this community to others. There is a beautiful river near by and our loved one just loves to sit outside on the porch and be at peace.

This is a very good place to be for your loved one. The staff are very friendly and caring. They have activities like outings around the community and more for the residents to do. The tour was during a lock-down so I was not able to see to many things besides the apartment.

Nice, friendly place
We chose Mountainbrook Assisted Living because it was the only place we found that had a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment and that is what we wanted. It was also more reasonably priced than others that are in this area. We do not partake, but there are a lot of activities that are provided. We would recommend to others.

More than I could ask for.
The care my loved one received is beyond words. When placing your family, pay more attention to the staff not just the way the facility looks. MountainBrook might be dated, but the care the staff gives the people is like they are family. Dated but clean. caring staff from one end of the place to the other.

my personal opinion
Don't go here, when I initially met the director he was very nice, but I found out the director was not a nice person. It's not the facility or the staff was great. They threatened to throw out my loved one and I was disappointed in the coldness of the director. I would not recommend this community

Cruel, Cold, Double dipping on rent
This is a terrible place. They called me and wanted to kick my father in law out because he had cat hair on his shirt at the dining hall. Remind you he is disable and this assisted living and “ no one could help him change his shirt?” Which by the way was black and he has a white cat. They made him leave the dining hall and embarrassed him in front of other residents. The real reason is because he voiced his concerns about the cleanliness of the Kitchen. The manager goes in and eats from the pots hanging her long hair over the pots with no hair net and the owner also eating from the pots with his muscle shirts and his extremely long under arm hairs hanging over the food that the residents pay for. They also tried to kick him out again because they said he didn’t work with the nurses for wound care. I contacted the nurse the same day and she stated she had been there that day and he was glad to see her. I drove up to make sure he was ok and he had fresh wrappings on his wounds. Every month the owner and the manager contacted us and told us to get him out. We finally found suitable housing for him in Knoxville and they told me if I got everything out by [date removed] they would return his deposit. They were so glad that he was moving they had someone else in mind for his apartment. Then they said they couldn’t return his deposit till he gave them his cable box which was turned into the cable company who installed it and I had to confirm this and they finally released the deposit as promised. Now four months later they sent him to collections for breaking the lease. He is a retired Dr. and They treated him like trash the whole time he lived there and begged us to get him out even agreeing to return his deposit if I got him by [date removed] then they turned around and sent him to collections. The guard there drives the property in a golf cart with a rifle on the seat. He leaves the rifle unchecked in the golf cart when he goes in and out of the buildings. They allow ducks to roam the Kitchen. But most importantly they are not nice to elderly people like my father in law and they lie and try to double dip on apartment rent by kicking one out and moving one in and then trying to collect for the whole term of the lease after evicting you. I talked with the manager and she stated she has “ her own records” of interactions with us when they tried to kick him out in June, September, November and she had no explanation for why they gave us the deposit back and asked to have him out by the [date removed] and then sent to collections. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said the supervisor is the owner and he will agree whole heartedly with her. I tried to explain that we did everything they asked in a timely manner. She said she was not going to argue with me and hung up on me. She refused to let me talk with the owner and told me to let the lawyers take care of it because her boss supports her 100 percent. Therefore there is no professionalism and there is not accountability for her actions. I would never put anyone I loved there. I wouldn’t send a dog there. They are Scammer because they kicked him out and now want to collect for the entire lease even though he moved out and they replaced him with someone else and he did everything they asked. They are trying to collect rent from two people for the same apartment. They just thought they could take advantage of him being old and disabled. Please think twice before going there. There were no red flags ahead of time and I thought I was doing the right thing when we choose to move our precious father there. It was very sad to visit him when he was being ostracized and neglected by the staff. The owner was also very likable in the beginning until we signed the lease then he was cold cruel and manipulative. This is an elderly retired Dr. who has never been sent to collections for anything and they wanted to extort money from him knowing he fears owing money to anyone. Also the manager laugh at me over the phone and said I couldn’t prove he was evicted by them because they didn’t send anything in writing. I tried to explain before she hung up that they verbally evicted him and I have conversations with [name removed] as I begged to be able to find a place before they evicted him. The very sad part is that my father in law didn’t know why he was sent to collections and was trying to get a high interest loan to clear his credit.

Home Away from Home
Our first impression was that this place is homey. It is not stuffy and over fancy. There were folks singing hymns in the parlor and someone was playing the piano. They even have a full time Pastor that is the director. Our tour guide was so sweet and professional. Everyone that was working there were so friendly to my Mom and me. I also like the cleanliness and decorations everywhere. This is probably a new home for my Mom and when I get the Choices program in effect it will be a financial dream for us.
