Highly Recommend this Facility!
I recommend it to everyone that I meet. I've taken their brochures to our Area Agency on Aging and have them put out where people could see them and pick one on. I have nothing but great things to say about Magnolia place of Saxonburg. The staff is wonderful they take good care of the patients and they actually care for them. That's a big plus they don't just work there as a job. I've experienced that first hand more than once. I've even got a phone call when my mom's not having a good day to let me know. The place is clean it doesn't smell and you can get in anytime you want. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We offer seniors a new and fabulous way of living at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg! We’re located in the quiet town of Borough of Saxonburg, where we combine high quality assistive care services and memory care to meet every person’s unique health and personal needs. Our dedicated, professional staff are available 24/7, seven days a week to ensure resident’s safety, sense of security, and peace of mind.
In addition to managing health needs, we also assist with a variety of personal and miscellaneous chores to reduce stress and save your time. Our Environmental Services Director, for example, assists with urgent repairs, maintenance requests, arranging furniture, decorating, and more. Whatever your need or desire is — our team is on it!

Highly Recommend this Facility!

Small -Cozy Community
We picked this community because, it was friendly and welcoming in a sincere way. And my loved one, was able to get an exceptional room in which he could keep all of the furniture that was familiar. The other places only had small rooms. He would have to downsize to a twin bed, one dresser and a recliner. Maybe someday a smaller room would be fine but he needs to walk and the more room he has the better. Overall, ease of access/travel for me was the primary reason.

Involved in defrauding and exploiting my mother, and violating many laws and her Constitutional rights in the process. Evildoers masquerading as professionals. Why the Saxonburg police will not do their job is an open question. Someone for heaven's sake help us.

Magnolia place is the perfect place for a loved one.
I have recommended others to Magnolia Place and my mother loves it. The activities keep her occupied and I can only say great things about Magnolia place. They have numerous activities which is great because they're such a variety. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far .

Our family had an in person tour and we thought Magnolia Place was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous and a very nice program. The ladies giving us the tour were absolutely wonderful and took a lot of time to show us what we wanted to see and answer all our questions. They were all very professional. We were able to meet with the activities director and get to check out the cafeteria. The only deciding factor was the price - if your loved ones level of care changed there was a significant jump in price.

My Recommendation, Don't Place Your Loved One Here, If You Can't Monitor the Situation
The staff didn't care for my individual's hygiene when they were in the community. Management was always talking the good talk; however, there was no action to their promises.
I wasn't allowed in the community due to their COVID protocols. I can't recommend the community due to my experience with them. The individual I had in the community had items that we brought in and the items were exactly where we placed it on the first day, and it appeared untouched by the staff.
There was a goodie bag of the favorite food items, and this was never opened. The director never showed up on the day we moved the individual's items out to discuss our experience with community.

My Tour Experience at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg
I wouldn't recommend the community to others. They didn't have any comforts or homey feel to it. On top of that my loved one had a negative reaction to the tour.

Would Not Put a Loved One There, Period!
I would not consider this place, period. Leave this off your list. Bought my friend a shaver, never used. Bought a cell phone, never used and still in a box. I could never reach him. Never got to see him due to covid lockdown. Could not experience the care he had but he was there less than a month and suffered a brain bleed.

Nothing is as good as home but this is pretty close
They are lovely at this community and very clean from what I have seen. I feel like they need to do some updates and do some organizing. They are very nice and engage and speak with him often. The staff are kind and nice and take instruction well. Whenever I have a question they are very open and make sure that I am aware of medications and anything else needed. My loved one loves the meals. They have two outdoor courtyards that the residents can go to. They are locked for the residents safety and my loved one likes this. They mounted a t.v. for my loved one and put up pictures that I send in. I really love this community the affection and support is there that he needs.

A Ways To Go to Reach Their Goals
My loved one's social worker had trouble getting a hold of the administrative team, but this has been addressed and won't happen again.
It is okay, but not happy with the results overall with care. For the most part the communication with the staff has been good.
They have bingo and other activities for the residents to choose from.

My review of Magnolia Place during covid
No one inside the facility has gotten covid so that has been huge. He does complain about the food a lot and so do other residents, they are eating in 2 shifts and he is in the 2nd shift so they get leftovers. The activities director has really tried to keep residents busy, I feel bad because I know they are limited on what they can do. They have increased prices for rent and things such as having to pay extra for laundry. I would tell anyone who is putting your loved ones in a facility to get all the medical stuff figured out before you place them because of covid regulations you cannot take them out.

The community is pretty terrific.
I would tell my friends that it is excellent with money and it is a caring community.

Please think twice
The memory unit is severely lacking. One person works for 16-20 people. Place is not clean, no activities, no individual attention, meals take forever. And don't try and call and reach you loved one by phone. Phone rings and rings and rarely do they pick up. The price is high also for what they provide. Sadly, please don't place your loved one here before you check it out completely. I would say ask if you could spend the night and do an assessment. I am not saying the people don't care just that people are human and can only do so much. Is this where you want your loved one?

Magnolia Village is the secure memory community within Magnolia Place of Saxonburg. New, local ownership took over the Community on February 20, 2020. At that time, there were only 9 residents in Memory which holds a total of 18 possible residents. We have since increased staff that includes a designated "leader" which includes additional care and activities. After covid restrictions, please come visit us and witness all the improvements!

Overall not recommended
This place is short staffed, poor quality care, and the state has found various violations... Best to call Area of Aging and State before you sign all the papers for your loved one.

Looks can be deceiving
Looks like a nice place, right?? Please beware, minimal staff, little to no activities, little to no interaction, little to no care for the residents, food is not that great, communication is terrible. Please go at several different time frames to get full perspective of facility. Seems quiet and peaceful but that isn't always the best.
