A lot changed between touring and moving our family member in. There had been some turnover - the director was gone, and so was the marketing director. But they've filled those positions, and so far we've been happy. They had promised a one-bedroom and then didn't have one available at move-in, but they were nice enough to give us a two-bedroom for the same price and then allowed her to move to a 1-bedroom that was closer to the dining room when it became available. She has Alzheimer's but is in the assisted living section, and they come to get her for meals. There's a nice PT and his assistant who give exercise classes three times a week, and they usually come by and get her for those as well. Since those initial changes, we've experienced a consistency of staff - it has been the same people day in and day out, which impresses me.... Read more

From what I can remember, Lakeshore had the dementia patients separated from the others and did not give them access to the nicer community areas. Way to nursing home like.
All the staff has changed. The few of the old staff that stayed are great. The staffing has been reduced to the point that care is suffering. I am looking to move my mom. It will be a long time before this becomes a resident centered facility again.

My mom loves the activities available to her. She has a full- sized apartment which most of the communities in our area did not have. They have friendly staff.

We had a bit of a rocky start. The director was fired during the move in process and she did not have the accommodations that were promised to us for over a month. It made it hard for my loved one to get settled. I know they have changed directors and I am hopeful that everything is going to change for the better.

What grabbed our attention right away from the initial tour was the directors enthusiasm, that sold is immediately. We love the room layout, it is outstanding - it is something our loved one can live in long term, she has a little kitchen area and other spaces besides just a bedroom and bathroom. We have not had the meals ourselves and sometimes our loved ones complains but she is eating so overall the meals are good nothing concerns us, no red flags regarding the food. They do have some good activities going on. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend them to other families.

We've been happy. It's everything we expected it to be. My mom is happy there. She's made a lot of new friends. I like the fact that she has a somewhat full size apartment rather than just a hospital room. Hers is on the courtyard, which is really nice. She's also on what they call their social hall, for the people who like to hang out after dinner and talk in the hallways, which has worked out well for her. On the food, she says they serve an awful lot of rice, pasta, and potatoes. She's really glad she doesn't have to cook anymore, but the dinner meal is not so good, and they end up throwing a lot of food away. But she loves breakfast, which they bring to her room every morning. She doesn't have to jump up and get ready - they bring all that good food right to her. And she's also grateful she's been able to keep her cat with her.

The community isn't perfect, but no community is. You kind of have to go with the mentality of, it is what it is. I'm satisfied with the community. The staff try their best to care for the residents. There are times they are short staffed.

We are very happy with our decision and choosing Lakeshore for our loved one. We loved it from the moment we saw it, it really is in no comparison to others communities. They have everything our loved one could possibly need and the director is just awesome.

We did not have a good experience with Lakeshore. My mom went 3 weeks without having her hair washed. Her toenails were so long that they were cutting her feet, even though I asked them multiple times to cut them for her. We had no impact at all with her care or anything like that. I would not recommend them to others looking.

I have had no complaints about Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care. We looked all over this area and this one was by far the best out of the ones that we saw. They do have a variety of room sizes depending on what you need, I am happy with my room size. I would recommend to others looking.

Even before Covid, the communication from Admin was poor and the staff to resident ratio was not good. The caregivers were kind and efficient and our mom was relatively independent so we kept her on the assisted living side of the facility. With Covid, we were at the mercy of Lakeshore to ensure she was being cared for as we weren't allowed inside the building for almost an entire year. As our mother's memory declined, we called her daily to check because she was basically quarantined for months in a room totally alone. She would comment that multiple food trays were beside her bed and there were no towels hanging in the bathroom to indicate bathing was being done. Once I was allowed inside (they knew I was coming), I found her room and living conditions to be poor. Multiple food trays out, bathroom and sheets not clean, ants on her countertop and the smell was terrible due to old food. We moved her out as soon as we could. If your loved one is relatively independent, Lakeshore is fine. If your loved one needs assistance, you may be dissatisfied as we were.

Even before Covid, the communication from Admin was poor and the staff to resident ratio was not good. The caregivers were thoughtful and kind and our mother was relatively independent so we stayed. When Covid hit, we were at the mercy of the facility to ensure our mother was being cared for. For close to a year, we weren't allowed inside her room and visitation was very low (sometimes through a window and some outside on the patio). Once we were allowed inside, we quickly discovered her care was minimal at best based on the her physically and the conditions of her room - food trays left for multiple days, dirty sheets and the smell was terrible. If your loved one is relatively independent then Lakeshore would be ok. If your loved one requires any assistance, then they will not likely get what they need due to low staff to resident ratio.

Honestly don’t know what I would have done without [name removed]! She has help my hand and walked me through every step of this journey of moving my elderly parents. She has been so thorough to answer my every question & has followed through on every thing she said she would do. Lakeshore is clean, offers every amenity/services that anyone could possibly need or want for elderly and or ill parents. This facility offers far more than the 4-5 other places that I visited! I cannot recommend [name removed]& Lakeshore enough. After searching numerous facilities, I hit the jackpot with Lakeshore. I will recommend them to anyone that asks me. [name removed]

This place is well maintained it's always nice and clean with no odors. They are friendly and helpful. They give him his medications on time. The general appearance is better than any other place I've been to. He enjoys the daily activities they have to offer. He is in a 1bdrm apartment with a kitchenette and french doors that open up to the courtyard. They have someone that comes in and will cut his hair. I would recommend this community.

I have been my father's care giver for the last three and half years. My father will be 99 on [date removed] and has been diagnosed with "Late Stage Alzheimer's Disease. The decision to move father to memory care facility was a join effort including Dad;s cardiologist, Hospice and the staff at Arbor House Memory Care. When I was taking care of Dad at the house, he needed constant monitoring. He just had to be on the move all the time. It got to the point it was not safe for my Dad to be at the house. The hunt for a facility that provided Memory Care started. I reviewed eight different facilities. Arbor House: Had in my opinion, the best Staff (They were engaged. Had a game plan and scheduled activities for every day of the month. You will not believe how much peace this will bring to your love one. The staff is great and well trained. Clients to Caregivers ratio is excellent. Needless to say that having to take your father to a memory care facility in the first place really Sucks. Seeing my Dad in safe environment with a lot of activity helps to deal with the guilt. [name removed]
