They are trying to be really helpful. I think it is really nice facility. I think that they could do a better job at onboarding new residents. They are kind of left to their own devices and I believe more attention and recognition is warranted. I would also like to know what the industry standard is for how often medication lists are updated. I know that they update them once a month here, but people have had a hard time getting lists of their loved ones medications. Don't get me wrong, the staff has bent over backwards to be nice to us. Overall, they have done a great job and I would use them again.... Read more

My friend's uncle was a resident here until one night when the front desk was unattended and the other staff was asleep, he wandered out of the building, down the street, and was found the next day on the side of the street with a broken leg. Yes, what a great building!

I toured this community for my aunt. Besides the deplorable living conditions and broken a/c units, the residents look so sad and bored. I can't believe this place is still in operation and now know why their other locations have been shut down by the government.

My uncle was living here. I had no idea what was really going on up their until he got out in the middle of the night because theres no staff on duty and he fell and hurt himself and now he is to week to go anywhere. i know they did this too the homelife building in ilinois and left thosee poor people without anywhere to live. what a pitiful shame.

I was not going to move in after seeing that they were not in a convenient location to my family. This would suit another person.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. HomeLife seemed like a nice place overall, although I don't think it would have been the best fit for us. It's a smaller community, and the facility itself is a bit older. It felt a little darker and more cramped than some of the newer places we saw. But the people here seemed awesome, all of the employees we met were very friendly.

We're very pleased with how things are going at HomeLife in the Gardens! They've been a huge help to us, and they're doing a great job taking care of my loved one. The staff is friendly and professional, and they're great about getting her extra care when she is in need.

I would rate HLG as 3 out of 5. Good Points: Food Companionship Activities Friendliness of staff Bad Points: Patio is dominated by smokers, making it impossible for the majority of residents to enjoy - situation not mentioned during tour. Little attention to new resident on-boarding. Example-Stick them at the new people table vs. integrating them into existing table.

I would say that number one, the staff is very nice and conscientious and they keep track of how well everyone is doing. A very nice facility, the food is good. They could improve on the activities though; they just fixed their bus, so it should be good all around.

Things are going well. The people here are super nice. The facility is somewhat run down, and in need of repairs, though the new owners say they are renovating. The paint is chipping and there is mold on the ceiling. They are also in need of a new van. Over all though mom seems happy.

We are pretty satisfied with everything. She is adjusting very well. They are very accommodating. People couldn't be nicer to her. It's pretty clean, and they pick up her laundry. The food is pretty good, and they always have an alternative. She is always going someplace, she has a busy social schedule. They really, really try, with everyone. We chose them for the atmosphere, everyone looked alert and alive. It was clean, but didn't look sterile like a hospital, it looked more like a hotel.

Home Life in the Gardens was not very good. It was really dated and dusty. Recently, there was an incident on the news about how they dropped the property value down to lower their taxes. The person that gave the tour was nice, though, and her uncle owns the place.

I'm happy with it. It is for high functioning individuals. The only people that get what I consider to be level 3 care are the charity cases. My husband does not get that level of care. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. I think it's a great value. Part of the reason it's so inexpensive is because your'e not getting that level of care. They're under new management and the manager does not understand what level of care they offer. Level 3 care is just not available there. The food is good and the activities are great. There is a lot of music and they'll show a movie. I enjoy it - I don't mind hanging out there at all. The staff is happy to work there. I could not praise the staff more hightly!
