This multi-story, pet-friendly Holiday Retirement community is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains — just a short drive from Lake Lanier. Residents are provided with three nutritious meals and daily entertainment options, which include stimulating, on-site activities and premier amenities. To help ensure everyone’s health and safety, trained associates offer 24-hour emergency response services. My Tour Experience at Holiday Smoky Springs
Our tour was great. The staff of the community that gave the tour were wonderful. We felt the community was not a good fit for our loved one, so we decided to go with another community.

A Rare Gem
My mom spent two long weekends at Smoky Springs as a trial. I had also investigated the facility prior to her staying there. The staff and residents are like one big family. The staff all say that it does not feel like a "job" to them. It definitely shows. The GM, [name removed], is a good communicator and follows up on needs or concerns. She's calm and caring, just an overall amazing person. The food is delicious, and the chef is skilled in preparing healthy but tasty meals. I have known of three residents who had to leave due to health reasons, and they all wanted to go back. As a nurse, I feel comfortable having my mother there because I know they really care about her. This facility is a rare gem these days for aging adults.

A wonderful life changing event for me
Smokey Springs has changed my quality of life 100 percent. I love having wonderful people to interact with and it is such a family feeling. The three meals provided are wonderful, but my husband and I had to back off on eating everything offered as we were gaining weight. I love the fact there is a doctor that we could use as a primary care availab!e who visits monthly. We love the area. Right at the foot hill of the north GA mountains and lake Lanier right here. We love it. With a small town feeling with all the amenities is a big city. The world class hospital eight around the corner is a bog perk. This has been the most amazing experience. We moved here in July right after a medical crisis with my husband and I had been disabled for years; we are now better and less stressed. The whole atmosphere is supportive and wonderful. As I have improved all of the residents have been cheering me on. The staff is wonderful. Our activity director, [name removed], is especially wonderful. They all are.

We are pleased with our selection of Smoky Springs.
The friendliness here is beyond what I ever expected. Every resident is very open and willing and happy to talk with and visit with you. For the most part, the staff is the same way, especially the manager, one of her assistants, and the chef. They are all very outgoing. Because of Covid, they're having trouble finding staff to help with transportation to appointments and things. And they're also having a lot of trouble finding staff to clean the apartments. So cleanliness has been a little lacking, although the dining area is in excellent shape. The food is very good. I like that they really concentrate on a balanced meal for our big meal, which is served at lunch. We can always depend upon having fresh salad and vegetables. They have a good variety of meat and fish. The activities are great, and very well-rounded. They offer activities that provide mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation. And I think it's a good value. Smoky Springs is not as expensive as some of the other places that we looked at.

Our family had an in person tour and it was nice but we were not as impressed as the other communities we looked at. It was more apartment styled living and we just did not think it would be a good fit for our loved one.

Tour of Smoky Springs
We toured Smoky Springs and I could not wait to get out of there. The people were nice but the facility just seemed dated and dark. I just did not get a good feeling about it.

My move here is one of the best moves I have ever made. The staff here could not be any nicer or more helpful. I am treated with respect and always with a cheerful attitude. The food is so good and again, if I have a special need the chef is most eager to help me and always comes through with the right food. This place is great!
