Comfortable and Affordable Community

Everyone has been great. So far, my loved one seems to like the food, and is invloved with the activites. It's pretty good value for the money. We picked this community because, of the location and cost. It was the most affordable out of other place. We liked the size of the apartment, and the value for the money was the top reason we chose this community. The General Manager, has been really good and quite responsive. The new maintenance guy is really nice. Getting things repaired in a timely manner could improve.... Read more

Helpful and friendly staff

We love the area this community is in, as well as the pond. It is really a great place and the price is reasonable. The staff and residents there are very friendly. Any issues our loved one has no matter what the staff are they to help out. Super attentive and accommodating. We like all the activities they have going on, especially the music they put on for the residents. It gets them out and dancing with one another. It is also a pet friendly community. We would recommend Emerald Pond to other families.

A Good Value, Peace of Mind

I would recommend you check out Emerald Pond to see if it would be a good fit for your loved one. The people are nice, the community is affordable, and a good value for the money. There is not a big selection of food available for the residents. The taste is also bland for some. There are quite a few activities for the residents to participate in. There is even a happy hour.

Affordable and nice

For the value and for what we get for the cost it was worth it to us. My loved one has a good value for the cost that he is paying. The staff have all been really helpful and nice. Anytime I have a question they always get back to me.

Holistically an excellent place to live and be happy with a fulfilling life.

It's a great sense of comfort to our family that our loved one is in great hands. He's so well taken care of, and that makes us very happy. The staff are amazing. They love what they do, and you can really tell. Our loved one loves the food, maybe too much! It's very well balanced and has a great variety.

my review of Emerald Pond,

This community only offers independent living and we felt our loved ones needed more. The community was declining when we left. They had a new director and the food was not good at all. Maintenance requests took too long to be addressed and I hope they are doing better now.

Our Tour Experience

Our tour at Emerald Pond was good. My loved one probably would have ended up going here, but it was just too far away.

We really liked our visit to Emerald Pond, it was clean, bright, and all the amenities included with the monthly rent will be super helpful. [name removed] the sales leader was very engaging, informative and able to answer all our questions. We left Emerald Pond with a good feeling.

Mediocre

They just had a huge change in staff. One of the things is that they allow the residents to smoke in their rooms, and sometimes it smells like smoke in the buildings. The activities director is great.

Pretty Environment and Friendly

It's not bad, compared to the others. There are a few things lacking, it is good for the money. The service like transportation it is offered at limited times (only in the mornings, twice a week) for the residents to get to doctor appointments. They are offering meals at the door, and they are very friendly. It is an older place. There are not to many activities offered. My loved one moved in right before COVID. They provide three times a day, since residents can't get to the dining room, and bring snacks to each room. It is a beautiful place and the dining room is nice. Prior to COVID they had coffee and snacks prior in the dining room. There is a pond outside with chairs and very friendly. It is nicely priced compared to other communities. They do have cleaning services once a week and bring clean towels in.

Community could be better

Emerald Pond could use some improvements, the food is horrible. They have been through quite a few chefs, and their current chef just recently left. The rooms are adequate, nothing luxurious but are pretty good. If their loved one was very well and mobile we would recommend this to a family or friend.

Mediocre food and service.

Poor management. They are not committed to going the extra mile to improve. They are complacent, and inconsistent. They are content with mediocrity. The food is below par. Current Executive Chef is not really qualified, she has been bumped up to fill vacancies. She will not be able to perform to necessary levels. An experienced Executive Chef will have to be recruited to improve food and beverage to acceptable standards. I believe there is general discontent among the residents. I have been here for close to 3 years, and the quality of overall service has steadily declined. We have had 5 Executive Chefs in a 3 year period. That is a telling experience that indicates there is not an effective experience between the Executive Chef and the General Manager. Progress has to be achieved to turn things around.

Hi there, thank you for your review. We regret to hear that you have not been completely satisfied with your experience. The personnel changes amongst our chefs have been due to personal reasons and positive opportunities, as opposed to personnel issues. While we understand that the dining experience has been different as of recent due to protocols, our team has been working hard to deliver 3 meals daily to our residents. We are excited to be able to begin inviting residents back to the dining room, socially distanced. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to reach out to any member of the local team, they are always open to feedback. Thank you

Services not provided as advertised, mgmt doesn't care

My uncle lived at EP for ~1.5 yrs. Our concerns were: (1) services not being provided as advertised [stated weekly trash removal; reality was housekeeper picked-up CERTAIN trash so my uncle had to take remaining trash to the dumpster]; (2) I personally heard 5 different residents state they were refused a meal by staff telling them arriving 15 mins after start of meal was too late [rent covers price of 3 daily meals]; (3) EP recycles one type of cardboard only, DOES NOT RECYCLE ANY plastic, glass, metal, etc., & due to coronavirus pandemic EP is using styrofoam containers for 5 daily deliveries [3 meals, 2 snacks, 3-5 sides/desserts, 3-5 beverages]; (4) EP’s best feature is the wildlife drawn to its pond but EP staff tells residents & visitors not to feed them because they are trying to get rid of the wildlife as they are tired of cleaning behind them; (5) parking lot layout is horrible, needs a lot more spaces. We discussed these issues with Gen Mgr [name removed] who listened, did not ask any questions, did not make us feel she cared about any of this. Other managers [[name removed] & another lady] just nodded at us, smiled, & walked away.

Hi there, thank you for your review. If a resident arrives late to a meal, they are still able to receive their food. While it may prove difficult to get them food after the kitchen has closed, our team has still gone above and beyond to assist those residents in getting takeout or find another solution. In terms of our wildlife, we are not attempting to get rid of the wildlife. We asked residents to refrain from feeding the ducks and geese human food, as it can be harmful to the animal. Our team takes these types of complaints very seriously, and would like the opportunity to discuss your concerns further as these had not previously been brought to their attention. Please reach out to the local team to discuss further, they would be happy to work with you. Thank you

[Name removed] did a thorough and exemplary job of showing us Emerald Pond. The facility is in a great location regarding proximity to my father's place of work and is on a nature preserve. For the time being Dad is adamant about staying in his home. But knowing we have options like Emerald Pond give me comfort.
