Her anxiety diminished within days and she loved the true compassion these ladies showed her. She told me that it was the best home cooked meals and treats she’d had in years. The staff were very kind and patient people, having to answer tough questions from myself and hospice care. We had looked at other places, but they were dark, cluttered, the people were inactive and it was depressing. When visiting Gerry Care, I was impressed they kept the drapes open to let in the light which makes the environment cheerier. The TV was on and the residents sat in comfy chairs watching together. The home was spotless. The residents and caregivers are caring, friendly, informative and quick to respond to their residents. The bathrooms and bedding are kept clean. Residents are fed well; more times than not eating what they want when they want. The caregivers do not complain about special requests. When Mom passed, they were quick to phone us and give their condolences. I have never regretted taking Mom there.
