We had a very nice tour at Garden Ridge But it was a little more expensive than other places we looked at. And it was too big. It felt too much like an institution and not enough like a home.
My loved one does not seem to like the food. They are lacking in activites but they just hired a new activities director. They are under rennovation, and my loved ones apartment is beautiful. If they had more activies it would be much better. In addition, if they made all of the door electronic that would be nice, which would be good for those who are on a scooter or walker.

This facility is great. I can't stress enough how warm and comfortable it feels here. The atmosphere is great. The residents are just so nice and interactive and down to earth. Most of the staff is really great and caring. It's an older building, but clean and being upgraded. Communication with the family is good and they stay on top of things. They have a very nice outdoor area and even allow the residents to make a fenced area for their pets to use. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

This is on the same campus as Arbor Ridge. This community has independent living with a mix of optional medication management support for independent living.

October 21, 2022Hello, We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your tour of Garden Ridge. Thank you for your kind words and feedback about our community. Have a nice day. Sincerely, George, Executive Director
[name removed] went above and beyond to help me get my uncle an apartment at arbor ridge. She spent many hours of her own time taking my uncles phone calls. He was very confused ( Alzheimer’s) and would call her all the time and she always picked up and talked to him. I think half the staff ended up talking to him at some time.. thanks guys, much appreciated. The whole facility and faculty are wonderful. Highly rated.

This community was great and the tour was great also. This community was a little more expensive and that is the only reason we did not go with this facility.

October 13, 2021Hello, We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your tour of Garden Ridge. Have a nice day.
It was a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend anyone put your loved one in this community. We went to move my loved one out of the community, and there were bugs coming out of my loved one's bags. The staff was supposed to come in and checked on my loved one. My loved one was in the same clothes from five days before when we saw her last. Then they were soiled for a long time as well. They have recently been purchased by another group. They are cutting the staff's hours, instead of keeping them and improving the inside. My loved one had a chair that was taken out by a staff member. The residents had to give the staff favors to get things done.

I was pretty pleased with this community, although I do feel like they could have handled the pandemic better. They started serving the residents in their rooms and this causes food quality to go down. Room sizes are nice they had a 2 bedroom. After we get back to normal I would recommend this facility

We chose Garden Ridge because her father lived here before and had a great experience. The apartment sizes are nice. I have eaten here once and the food was really good. The best part about this community has been the activities and the places that they took them before COVID. The staff members have been very helpful and communicative with what is going on inside of the facility. I would definitely recommend the community.

Would be okay but I didn't feel a great vibe. Facility is really spread out. Floors in common areas and halls were in desperate need if cleaning. Model room was beautiful, but actual rooms available were not nearly on the same level. Outdated appliances and interior. Tour guide said she does not eat the food but it is getting better. Facility is also going through a management company change.

February 20, 2020Thank you for sharing. We use all perspectives to improve our community and are thankful for both positive and constructive feedback. We will pass on your comments to our team.
Beautiful grounds and all of the residents seemed very happy. The apartments are large and with good sized windows and nice patios overlooking the grounds.

November 19, 2019Thank you for leaving a positive review! We appreciate your feedback!
Although the community was nice, I left there after the tour feeling as though we had been rushed through the tour. Prices were a bit on the higher side for us but all in all the units were nice.

When it was time to get my Mom settled into an assisted living location it was difficult to know where to start.....found a Place for Mom online emailed in my request and within an hour had my advisor give me a call to clarify our needs, financial requirements and locations to help narrow our choices. By the end of business I had 5 to choose from that met our criteria. [Name removed] with Amethyst Gardens was one the phone before the end of the day and was able to answer our questions and get us an appointment for a tour withing 48 hours. My Mom is very happy there. Lots to do the food is good and best of all she can get help on site if and when she needs it. No more house to worry about. She is enjoying the interaction of other folks her age close, she can go to her apartment to have "me" time. Lots of activities that interest her and for me best of all she is up and moving around getting stronger everyday and enjoying her golden years by having the day to day grunt labor being addressed by the folks at the Amethyst. The staff is awesome, the facility comfortable, she has transportation available for outings or necessary things, medical staff on site 24/7 and best of all her 3 cats are along for the ride. Win win. She is on a constant cruise without the Dramamine.

January 24, 2019Hi Margo! Love to hear it! We are so glad your loved one feels comfortable and cared for in our community. It’s the highest form of praise!
We would like to give a big shout out to A Place for Mom and Amethyst Gardens in Peoria, Arizona. We’ve used A Place for Mom services twice this year and they’ve done a fantastic job with their referrals. We just moved my hubby’s parents from Virginia to Arizona to be closer to us. We chose the Amethyst Gardens because of their beautiful grounds, fantastic food, and great apartments for such a reasonable price. They have also been very flexible in working with us on the move-in date, accommodating their beloved dog with a fence outside their sliding glass door, and being very thorough with Dad’s Parkinson’s care by the nursing staff. It’s truly a wonderful facility with very friendly staff and residents. They also offer many fun outings and gatherings for the residents to get involved in. I highly recommend Amethyst Gardens to anyone looking for a great assisted living facility to take care of your loved ones! This one is definitely worth your time & money!

November 15, 2018Hi Shelley! Thank you for giving us your seal of approval! The perspectives of our residents and their families mean so much to us!
We did not see this place. It is a sister facility to [removed] and takes medicaid patients ([removed] does not.) so good to keep in mind in the eventuality that [name removed] runs out of money.

Liked the single bedroom unit I was shown, but did not like the Altec shared unit due to the layout of the room with the 3/4 wall at the end of the bedroom. But, they did have an Non Altec room that I thought could be suitable.
