I would recommend

I chose First and Main because they accepted pets at the time and also it was one of the lesser expensive ones that I looked into. The administrative staff and everyday staff here are very friendly. The room sizes are a little on the smaller side. There is not much closet space. A lot of the foods served are greasy and the quality is not very good. I am able to cook in my room so I do that if I do not like what is served or if I do not want to go downstairs to eat. They do serve really good ice cream, but they only have the basic flavors, when I first came they had a lot of variety of choices. A lot of the residents here are in wheelchairs or are bedridden, so they are a little further with the care they need than I am, so that can be difficult. But overall, I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Communication frustration.

I was not updated when an incident happened, I was not informed. I spoke to the administration and got in touch with the nurse. I was upset that no one had called me. The information I was given was different then what my dad said happened. I was frustrated with the communication. Things that were supposed to happen were not happening. There are positives but also frustrations too.

Nice Looking but Lacks Engagement

My father lived at First & Main Lewis Center for 21-22 months. It is a beautiful facility. There is a piano and sunroom. I did not see any newspapers or magazines. There were children's books in the memory care unit. My father would complain that it is boring. He did not like to sit and watch TV and had always led an active lifestyle. He liked to walk, garden, and swim, but the only time he did that was when we had the opportunity to do that was when he was with us. I was told I would get weekly updates, but I never received one update. The first newsletter arrived a week after he died.

Mom is so Happy

I Love this community the staff here is friendly and responsive to my moms needs. The executive team is wonderful and they keep the employee's happy which leads to a Happy home. The food is wonderful here too. The Community is outstandingly clean and the grounds are maintained nicely. Mom has dementia and the staff makes it a point to get her involved in the activities like bingo. I would definitely recommend this community.
