Beautiful and caring community! Their professionalism and attention to detail is commendable. The quality of care that their residents receive is one of the traits that sets them apart from its competition. In addition to their quality-of-care their signature programs go above and beyond.

September 26, 2022Dear Veronica, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review! We appreciate your feedback and will share with the team.
I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. My loved one likes it here. The food is enjoyed by them. The community is small enough for my loved one to make friends quickly.

September 26, 2022Thank you for the high rating! We take pride in what we do and glad it shows. We are also delighted to hear that your loved ones are enjoying the food and overall experience with us. Thanks again!
I thought The Fountains at Washington House was lovely. The sales person was lovely. The facility was lovely. Unfortunate the level of care my mother needed they couldn't’ provide. But it was a beautiful place.
It seemed like the residents here needed more care and I was looking for a place more independent. Their meal plan also includes 3 meals a day and that is not something I wanted.
The community can really work to improve on the dining hall meals, the food right now is sub par.

This is a very large and nice facility. Very clean and welcoming. All the residents seemed very happy and content. The Director of Sales, [name removed], was very knowledgeable and professional. She took the time to answer all of my questions and explained the CCRC structure to me in detailed. It relieved a lot of anxieties about this next phase of my life. I was shown a 1 BR and a !BR deluxe and was pleasantly surprise about their sizes. I think I could have been happy in either one but they were over my budget.

We chose The Fountains at Washington House because I got recommendations from some other people who had good experience and when I went to tour I liked what I saw. The apartment sizes here are adequate for the needs. I would recommend to others looking.

I would tell my friends that they treat everyone with respect and they are very understanding. The rooms are the best in the area and they are like your own apartment. The rooms include a living room, bedroom, and your own bathroom. The price is great and comparable to other communities in the area. The service is very nice and the community is in an older building.

October 5, 2020Thanks for sharing. Our associates are committed to going above and beyond and we're glad it shows. And while the building isn't new but we do keep it clean as a whistle and it does have a special charm! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
The reason I picked this place is because my husband had been at this community, for rehab. They had all private rooms. My experience was good. No place is perfect, I was there every day. I'm not sure if it would be as good, if I wasn't there every day. They stopped me from coming to visit early on due to COVID. They made sure there were no visitors, it was awful but understandable due to the virus. They did this because of the good of the patients. I am able to understand why they did it. If we should have anymore pandemics, make sure that patients are able to come to the window for a visit. This is a first time a pandemic has happened in our lifetime. A friend had a significant other at another community and they found a way to allow visits.

My husband was here from July 2019 to April 2020 and we had excellent care in the evenings. It was ok during the day too, we just didn't get as personal with them. I liked the care a lot and I was there a lot so I really felt like I knew the staff. The community was kept clean. Most of the staff were great. They were very good with incontinence care. They didn't have enough staff to take my husband to the activities or entertainment when I wasn't there. The community is expensive, but compared to other places in the area, it was a good value.

June 17, 2020Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It was a pleasure having your husband. We will pass along your compliments to the care team and staff. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to tell us how we are doing.
They keep everything very clean, however it is an older building. The staff is very friendly; they really make everyone feel like family. The food has been great and we have no complaints. I thought they had a nice assortment of activities; they had exercise classes, off-community field trips to places like the Kennedy Center, outside entertainment, shopping, and some other things. The Fountains is a little pricey, but seems appropriate for the area.

June 17, 2020The building isn't brand new but we do our best to keep it as clean and inviting as possible! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, we greatly appreciate the feedback about the programs, outings and dining and will be sure to share with the team.
The founder of Washington House was my pastor-[name removed]. His vision for the facility was one of grace, comfort, and care. During COVID, none of these elements match the practice at the facility. Residents are locked indoors, in their rooms with no activities, no interaction, no grace, no love and little help. Calls to the phone lines which rarely work well (crackle, drop, or are inaudible) go unanswered. The Head of Nursing is unresponsive and read the CDC guidance not only incorrectly, but how it best suited the facility to drop staff and activities. Meanwhile, residents are paying full fare for reduced services and greatly reduced quality of care. [name removed] would have been chagrined to see that his vision had turned to a business that so poorly provides for its residence. I am here to tell you that I am beyond chagrined and angry at how my mother is being treated.

My father stayed in the skilled nursing facility area of Fountains, and recovered from his CHF with the help of the terrific nursing staff, PTs and attendants. We weren’t sure what to expect but were very satisfied with the experience (3 week stay).

May 11, 2020We're happy to hear you are very satisfied with your experience. We aim for complete satisfaction and are glad we could be a helpful resource to your father as he recovered. It was truly our pleasure having him with us and we appreciate your feedback!
A review of no star is not sufficiently appropriate for this care facility. The details and explanations provided to lure you toward a confident decision erodes quickly as you leave the main lobby of the facility and taken to a dungeon for skilled nursing. The actual private room assigned to my loved one compared to the Facts/Photos for residential care were deplorable. And, the existence of the Ambassador devoted to supporting the duration of your stay was non existent. As well, scheduled medicines were not provided to my love one on time. I have photographs of the dirty, worn and stained furnishings, bug and insect infested private room that had an aging odor and air freshner use was not allowed. Unfortunately, we were in this horrific facility for 24 hours. The facility attempted to imply (standard operating procedures) "against medical advice" could endanger patient care; however, the facility would not release discharge instructions for patient care which jeopardized patient care. What a juxtaposition, the environment and the disingeniousness of the staff was pathetic. I can assure you, state and federal regulatory agencies will receive this information so the mis-informed will not make the mistake my family did. Stay away from this dump.
