My loved one is safe and well cared for at Delmar Gardens South.
Placing a loved one in a nursing home is never an easy decision. But when they can no longer live independently and care for themselves, Delmar Gardens South (DGS) and its staff can be trusted to give them the care and compassion that they need. My sister moved to DGS in early 2020. She is well cared for physically and mentally. The facility is bright and clean; the residents are always dressed, and I understand that the food is very good, especially the desserts. Activities are available if the residents wish to participate and include exercise, crafts, bingo, musical entertainment, to name a few.
The DGS administration did an excellent job during the pandemic. Family members were regularly informed of the virus status in the home. Staff helped facilitate communication with my sister.
While I wish my sister could have remained independent and her in her own home, I sleep well at night knowing that she is safe and well cared for as a resident of DGS.

Tour of Delmar Gardens
I toured Delmar Gardens South and it was absolutely beautiful and had a great location. The staff were very helpful and great with their follow up. My loved one is visually impaired and I did not think she would have many activities to do.

Delmar Gardens is a beautiful facility. Our tour was very nice and we really liked everything that we saw. It was too expensive for us, but I think even though it is more costly it would be worth it.

Amazing
This is by far the best facility you could look at for your loved one. The staff obviously care a lot about the residents and treat them as if they are family. Any concerns you could have are always addressed timely and taken seriously. The place is clean and even if on the more expensive side, it is far worth it for the amazing care that is given to each and every resident. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for someone to stay long term or even just for therapy.

My opinion as to what I experienced.
Great place for loved one as long as they are able to in some way help themselves. Not suggested as full care facility. Understaffed for full care. My mother was there and I met several people who were there daily to tend for loved one. I suggest you talk to family of loved ones that require full care and that have been there for sometime and they will also tell you how understaffed they are for full care. Take mind, this is a nice facility but not for full care. To their defense I have found that to be an issue with all facilities. Overall staff was excellent but overwhelmed. Saw several good employees come and go. I rated per my experience as a full care facility. Again, excellent place for loved one but not as full care. Again, to their defense was the best of all facilities that I've experienced.

Toured, very expensive
We toured this community while looking in care options for a loved one. I thought Delmar Gardens seemed like a nice enough place, but it was also very very expensive. Based on what I saw there wasn't anything to set them apart enough to justify the vast price difference between this and some other communities we saw in the area.
