About the community Deane Hill Place

Deane Hill Place is a pet friendly Senior Living community just minutes from downtown Knoxville off of I-40, where maintaining your independence is easy with shopping, dining and entertainment at your doorstep. Our community offers our residents the opportunity to thrive in mind and body by developing individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, which includes Alzheimer's Care in addition to our Assisted Living accommodations. Having this additional level of care, as well as a full-time licensed nurse available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care, provides comfort and peace of mind that is important to you or your loved one. Careful consideration was put into the design of the apartments, so individuals with mobility issues, Alzheimer's and Dementia can still feel comfortable and at home. Our inviting common areas are great for relaxing or entertaining friends and family. When you feel the urge to socialize, there is never a lack of activities to choose from like, Chocolate Lovers Bingo, Bible Study, Deane Hill Walkers, iPad Exploration and Golf.

Research it really well before you come in

While we were there they went through three directors. Also they were very understaffed. When I put my loved one there this is not what I expected I i had to move her to another community. They are very understaffed and sometimes my loved one had to wait 45 minutes to an hour after requesting help. There was just no consistency.

Highly recommend

It was a very good experience, the staff members were so wonderful and they really did look after our loved one we can't say enough good things about them. The care services were awesome, and the meals and dining service was about adequate, almost similar to institutional food. We can't really speak to much about the activities, our loved one did not really participate in them. We do feel that the value for cost was very good and we got our money's worth.

My mind is at ease

We went with Deane Hill Place because their price was very good, location for our family was convenient, and the overall inside appearance looked more like assisted living rather than a nursing home. Dad has a 700 square foot room with a bathroom and the size fits him well. The location is great. I would recommend to others looking.

I would recommend

We chose Deane Hill place because the staff here, especially the one guy help coordinate it helped us. They reached out immediately and followed up frequently. We were needing something quick so it all worked out. We also chose it due to the reasonable price. The negative is the inconsistency. Sometimes when I go in it is very unclean, sometimes it is perfect. Sometimes staffing is wonderful and sometimes they are very short on staff. Overall I would recommend to others who are looking.

Our family had an in person tour and our tour experience was completely fine. Our loved one just decided to go with another community because of its location, she was more familiar.

Highly Recommend

We chose Deane Hill Place because of the location to family, and on the first visit I was very impressed with the staff members, administration, and the facility itself. There are so many good staff members here, and they truly care about their residents. A good experience all the way around, and I would highly recommend.

Based on my virtual tour, I thought it was very nice. It seemed like a very pretty place. It wasn’t quite as affordable as I was looking for though. And I would never just pick a place from a virtual tour. I would want to physically go there to visit.

Good option for those that are looking for assisted living care

Everything seems to be real nice. My loved one has flourished while she's been there. We like that they offer different levels of assistance. The staff have been nice and seem to be caring. I think they've had a hard time keeping people, like everywhere else. But that's just what I've heard the employees say. We haven't experience anything bad related to the care they provide. And cleanliness has been good as well.

I thought our virtual tour was the best it could be. They were very nice and showed us around via Facetime. I got a pretty good feel from them. There was nothing wrong here. We just saw another place that we thought would be a better fit for our loved one.

overall the community is a very nice place. The community is beautiful and the grounds are maintained. The management staff is very nice and take good care of our loved ones. The food is good and I would recommend this community to others.

Friendly Staff, Consider Other Options

My loved one had a short stay here, and my ratings are based on our small exposure. The staff are friendly, committed, and I think their intentions are good. There was chance that I would have be moving my loved one due to concerns of the mitigation on falls, and the transition of my loved one in the community. I wish the staff's communication would have been better during my loved one's falls. Our stay was during the pandemic, and things might have been different.

Friendly Place for Elders

It is a nice, quiet, friendly and safe community. The staff's friendliness stands out to me. The communication with the staff is great, we are able to text back and forth. They are allowing in person or virtual visits for the family.

The community is very neat and clean and the staff is very friendly. The food looks good but I have not had a chance to try it. Communication is good between the staff and our family. They call and email and keep us well informed. I would recommend this community to others

It is a good facility in a great location

They are still trying to do their best with the activities, but the participation level is just down due to the residents habits and still the restrictions. The value is reasonable and we would recommend the community to others. Our loved ones only complain is the food, they serve a lot of carbohydrates and the food variety is bad.

In my experience

I would recommend this community based on our experience. they follow through with what they say they will do. The value seems to be compared to other communities. Communication is pretty good but I would like to see more emails with activities and the menus.

I would not recommend anyone put their loved one here. At the beginning they're great, very welcoming. But after moving in, I found them to be very deceitful. I think there's just money hungry. They tried to change pricing on me within the first few weeks.

We do know how they prepare the food and it is cooked all in one building and then transport it to the other buildings. Our loved one does complain about the food sometimes but they are a very picky eater, but w do think the value is pretty good.

They were very responsive. If I had a complaint they addressed it. The best I can tell, they were taking care of my loved one. There was one instance where they parked my loved one in a wheelchair in a common area for hours at a time. To the best of my knowledge that didn't happen again after I addressed it. Visitors were not allowed, so I had to see my loved one through the window. Both Hospice and Deane Hill Place told me I could be with my loved one in person when she was dying. And they never called me. They only called the next morning.

I would not recommend anyone to this facility

While our loved one was there, she was over medicated at one point which became toxic to her and was sent to the hospital.
