Tour of Cogir of Queen Anne anonymous - Toured community
We had a great tour with Cogir of Queen Anne. The facility is absolutely beautiful and the staff were very accommodating. We just felt it was not the best fit based on my parents circumstances at the time but are reconsidering.
Response from Cogir of Queen AnneDecember 6, 2021
Thank you so much for your excellent review! Cogir of Queen Anne is a lively community with lots to do on the Queen Anne hill! Please reach out to our Executive Director if you have any questions regarding the care for your parents as we would love an opportunity to work with you on what the best solution is. Thank you again and have a wonderful day!

This community was fine just too expensive for what we were looking for for our loved ones.

Thank you for your feedback and we wish you good luck in finding the right place for your loved one.
Didn't go as expected due to staffing anonymous - Child of resident/client
I would advise to make sure that this community is fully staffed before you even consider it. If they are not I would say no. It was just the staffing issue that caused us a problem. they had activities like, work outs, movie nights and outings to go shopping. They had a lot of different things to pick from to keep the residents busy.
Coordination of care anonymous - Child of resident/client
We do know they are short staffed but they claim when a resident hits the call button given to them, it will take around 15 minutes for someone to respond but that isn't true it is more like around 45 minutes.
Delightful, kind and generous care for my dad Ann W - Child of resident/client
We honestly cannot say enough good things abut how kind, friendly and helpful everyone at the community has been. They show such kindness towards our family and our loved one at the community.
Daughter - Child of resident/client
Since Cogir took over from Brookdale in 2019, the entire place; management, staffing, care, building upkeep and especially dining services and food quality have plummeted. I can not recommend anyone moving in to this place.
A good choice and friendly atmosphere! Kaler W - Child of resident/client
The staff was more than helpful, and during the time our loved one was there he really enjoyed it. Everyone there was friendly and on a professional level. We do know they offered a wide range of activities. Before COVID they had movie nights, day trips, and live entertainment come in and play the piano.

We chose Queen Anne because it was a very attractive and we knew that this facility had a medicaid contract which was a wonderful thing. I have only seen my step moms room, she is in a 1 bedroom and it is pretty tight. I have eaten a couple meals here and it was pretty tasty, my step mother is also happy with it. She always says she enjoys the coffee here a lot as well. The current financial lady and head of wealth and management were very helpful and they really take the time to talk to you and help you out. I would recommend.

[name removed] was very responsive to my emails and then called me so I could ask my many questions. Her answers gave me the info I needed to move forward; she was very helpful.
They try very hard to make it comfortable and safe for everyone! anonymous - Resident/client
Taking into account of COVID and all the restrictions, they have done a wonderful job given those restrictions. I came to visit this community twice and one of things i liked most about it was the location, which is in the city. I also love my apartment, it has a kitchenette and a washer and dryer in the apartment. They just changed chefs which i am very happy about, before the menu was boring and now they are trying different things which i appreciate. For what it is worth, it is a good place.
a great place for my sister-in-law Laci - Loved one of resident/client
This community is overall great and they go out out of their way to help the residence.
Room sizes are decent size my loved has a studio. They are getting their food in their rooms and it can come cold sometimes.
I would definitely recommend this community
My Dad and his cat Alex make a good move

We just moved my 93 year old dad to Cogir based on the information we got from APFM. Cogir made it very easy to move dad and assured him he can keep his cat which is why we had to move him from the previous retirement community. He is so very happy which makes me happy! His new apartment is very affordable and with the addition of the assisted living I am confident that he is receiving excellent care. It is light and bright and includes a view of the Space Needle!!
Everyone has been extremely friendly and all of the staff I have interacted with all know who my dad is even after a few days there.
I am pleased to see the Corona virus precautions they are taking as well as providing us time to set up his new place. We will be able to visit him as often as we would like with masks on and a good physical distance.
He has not been there long enough yet to partake in all of the opportunities they offer, but I have signed him up for an Octoberfest lunch and look forward to seeing how that goes.

Great energy, nice people, amenities were all there, good options for both independent living and assisted living, lots of residents and a good variety of ages/ability.
Billing hasn't kicked in since buyout

Cojir bought this community from Brookdale and nothing has changed in that it is still a wonderful place for my mom and dad. They have a two bedroom/two bath unit.
Problem is the billing hasn't kicked in and we haven't paid rent for going on three months for my dad. They managed to deduct rent for two months for my mom from their checking account but we don't know why there is a holdup deducting for my dad or how we should pay directly.
The accountant (who is the same one they had when it was Brookdale) is telling us there will be no late fees but we just want to see some movement in the finance department.
They need an eBilling tab and a website for that matter for people to make payments

I am an independent living resident at Queen Anne Retirement Community. I will be honest, it was difficult initially for me to adjust to a one bedroom unit at this community after living in a 1600 square foot condo in Bellevue. It was not because of anything negative there.
There are many activities to participate in, and the activity director is open to suggestions of new activities to offer and new places to go. This year I suggested we go to the Nutcracker, and just like that, it was on the calendar.
They have a new chef, and he is very receptive to suggestions of new offerings. Their "Tres Leches" (3 milk) cake is to die for. The dining room is open from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. I know of no other community in the area with such extensive hours for food service. The wait people get to know your name quickly, and this makes for a warm atmosphere immediately.
As I assume with most senior communities, there is a bus to drive you to your doctor and dental appointments in the area.
Both the assistant executive director and the executive director have their doors open so one can discuss problems or offer suggestions.
Although I am not participating in the assisted living aspects at this facility, I have gotten to know many of the care givers. They are friendly, warm and caring.
In my opinion, there is no better way to learn about a specific retirement community, than to speak to someone who actually lives there. While a marketing person can tell you many things, it is not the same. If you decide to tour this Queen Anne Retirement Community, you may ask for me to share a meal with you in the dining room, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have from a resident's point of view.

My Loved One is Happy Here. anonymous - Loved one of resident/client
We are very pleased with Brookdale Queen Anne so far. The people are wonderful; very nice, and helpful. [Removed] have been super. The food could be a little hotter, but it is good overall. They have a lot of activities, and the community is very clean. Housekeeping comes once a week to tidy up and change the sheets. Overall, I really think my love one is happy here. We are very pleased

My friend is here currently and it’s been good. Everyone has been just great so far. All of the assistance there is great, the food is good, and they’re very friendly to everyone. They have a set menu every day and then there are specials for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day with alternate options. There are all kinds of sandwiches and things; they can make you soup or a sandwich at any time of the day. The facility is brand new and gorgeous and it’s just beautiful. It looks like it’s being taken care of very well. The activities are limitless! There’s a big screen TV that shows what’s going on that day. They have different menus of things that are going on and what you can do. You have to have a lot of money to be there, though, that’s the only thing I would say. I absolutely would recommend them and already have.
Friendly Tour anonymous - Toured community
My tour of this community was a good one. From what I saw everything looked well maintained. The staff I met was kind and courteous. It was a pleasant experience, and everyone was very nice. There were many factors that played into where to move my father too. My tour went well, but this wasn't the community for us.

So far everything is working out very well for my mother here at this community. They are taking good care of her and her needs. The staff is great, they have been very good to work with. A place for mom was great with all the help they provided. We are very pleased with everything they have done for us.
