CityView was a lovely assisted living community. Rooms are large with very nice bathrooms. The community rooms were also very nice and the food that was being served for lunch looked healthy and delicious. Residents seems happy! [name removed] was quite informative. We would not hesitate to place my uncle at this facility in when the right time arises. Thank you.

If you are thinking about moving [a loved one] here please consider what my sister and mother have endured in the last ten months ([dates removed])...mom’s security cameras in her apartment have exposed this horrible place.. Calls for help go unanswered weekly to this day, even after multiple calls to the front desk. You will need to drive here to assist your loved one yourself while asking, “What are we paying for?!” Dementia/Alzheimer's residents who are supposed to be kept on a secured separate floor, per the residency agreement, are moved in and on to assisted living floors. They scream at all hours of the night, enter your unit uninvited, pull down their pants and defecate right in front of you, demand to sleep with you, hit you for no reason, call you derogatory and anti-Semitic names and walk around naked. The facility will bill you thousands of dollars in advance for services then fail to provide them. When you bring this to their attention and ask for a credit to your account, they ignore you and continue to charge you for the services they are not providing. Dehydration/5-day Hospitalization stay due to Cityview not providing you with, or encouraging you to drink any, water. Salivary gland infection due to the severity of the dehydration stops you from eating. When your doctors advise Cityview you are OK to return to finish your recovery at home with not one but THREE antibiotics, Cityview’s administrator [name removed] will deny your return while going off on your family with emails like “The hospital thinks you’re so controlling of your mother they are calling Adult Protective Services on you.” “You are a sick person. Get help.” When you show her emails to hospital staff they will be appalled. Serious infections, like upper bladder infections and the infection above, go unreported to family. When you start to get agitated (a sign of infection) due to the infection being left untreated, management shows ZERO compassion. Instead, they compile a list of every time you were agitated (doesn’t matter they were the cause) and then try to use it against you to unlawfully evict you later. Incorrect medication given on some nights; no medication at all given on others. See [name removed]'s review on Yelp - same experience but his mom ended up in hospital. Cityview continues to employ these offending med techs and caregivers, allowing them to continue dispensing meds to your loved one, or not if they so choose. The administrator,[name removed], will ignore your emails and concerns or, when she bothers to respond, will call you names like “[name removed] happy family member” “Criminal” or simply write back “What do you expect?” when you bring to her attention for the 40th time that no one responded to your loved one’s call for help. If you continue to pressure her, [name removed] will start accusing you and your family of outrageous, slanderous, wholly unfounded behavior so they can try to unlawfully evict you. Housekeeping wrings out their dirty mop on your carpet daily, cleans the toilet with dry paper towels. You will need to clean the room yourself, daily. We caught one caregiver stealing supplies by bringing small plastic bags with them. Residents talk about their stolen items (e.g., jewelry, credit cards, collector’s items) in the dining room during meals. There is no supervision in most activities. A female resident (who was recently physically removed by LAPD) hit, not once but twice, our 96-year-old disabled mother who is confined to a wheelchair. Cityview management didn’t even put ice on our mother’s injuries. CityView promised it would keep this woman away from our mother. The same resident slapped her several times, including across the face, a second time when CityView staff sat her right next to our mom, and once again no ice applied to a hematoma, swollen face, two scratches. This is only a small glimpse as to what is really going on here. Shame on the owner and shame on the horrible management!

When I toured this community I enjoyed it. I seemed clean. The staff was nice and answered all of my questions. It just wasn't an ideal location and it wasn't in our budget. So we had to go elsewhere.
