A private room can be pricey here. The community does have an option to have a shared bathroom and hallway, with a private bedroom and this was a great option for my loved one and family. The staff are great to work with if the family has questions or concerns about our loved one. The Executive Director step down to work at the Marketing Director, and the community hired a new Executive Director. The new Director called a meeting to hear what the family and residents had to say and is working on addressing these concerns. The community serves a lot of sandwiches for dinner and this can be hard for the residents to swallow. I believe they could serve more pasta to assist the residents with choking hazards. I toured this facility and it was a nice place. It was very clean. Our tour guide was friendly. They just weren't able to accommodate my loved one's care needs.
Good community. This just wasn't the right fit for my loved one.
We liked the community. There were some family members that had concerns was about the cleanliness of the community. The community was more medical focus than what we needed.

My loved one was at another community and we had some issues with assistance. We came to this community and they are willing to care for my loved one and you do not have to be completely independent for them to take care of you. This community works well with people who need assistance. The staff are very friendly and they have a step up memory care unit. It has been a challenge for my loved one but we are trying to get adjusted. They also let my loved one out to eat with the other residents in personal care for my loved one to be able to socialize.
We just had our first in person visit and there were some things that we had to addressed. I feel like they are doing the best that they can and I am happy that my loved one is here. We had lunch during our visit and I was not very impressed with the meals. One of the main reasons that we picked this community is because they have a lot of nursing staff that are there to always check on the residents. They bought a rabbit to the community and my loved one was engaged and went to see the animals. They also often call and text my other loved ones to let us know how she is doing and if there is anything else needed and they also send pictures. The community is great my main concern is just lunch.

They gave us a great tour at Charter Senior Living. The reason we did not choose this facility was because it was on very little land. We grew up always having land and mom loves to be outdoors. It just did not have that country setting feel to it that we were looking for. If I remember right, they also did not take pets.
Medication errors, didn't follow instructions for insulin dependent diabetic, lack of communication with resident's loved ones, no notice of resident taken to hospital, wouldn't answer door or phone call when ambulance tried to return resident, resident had dirty hair and wore same clothes, etc. I sent 16 page report to OIG.

I am in independent living at another facility and looked at Charter a few months ago because it's cheaper. The director is wonderful, the program is great, especially for people with some physical issues. The activities are varied and they seem fun. The person who gave us the tour said that the facility is 25 years old, but I think it's much older. I found the building dark and depressing. Maybe you wouldn't agree; if you can look past the building, you'll like Charter, but I'll stay where I am. I might consider it later if I need more health care.

Love that there are two options of living for memory care. They are licensed personal care, which is very important when your loved one reaches certain stages of dementia. Very family oriented. Lots of programs for all levels of memory loss. Our family was very impressed and hopes to call this home for our mom.

Make sure you make a detailed list of everything that your loved one has. There were several items missing from her belongings. They couldn't find all of our loved ones' belongings. We had to make 3 trips and tried to get us to Take furniture that wasn't even ours. I hope it all has changed due to they have new management.

I looked at the facility several times and I thought it would be a good facility, but his time here was not the best but that was nobodies fault. They put him in an apartment that he was not equipped to be in. They were in the remodeling process and it was not livable yet. We were not allowed to help move him in either and they made some promises that they were not able to keep at the time. The staff members here were fantastic and a lot of them were really trying to do their best during these circumstances. Before the pandemic started, I was extremely happy with it, it was very clean and the room we were going to move him in at that time was great. I would tell others to be proactive and really ask questions.
They recently changed management, but it seems to be getting better. They are not very quick to respond so communication could use some improvement. My dad does say the food is excellent and he really enjoys it. I would tell others just to make sure to carry through what they promise in the beginning. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

We chose Charter Senior Living because they were the only one in the area that were accepting new residents. It was also close to where she lived and best we could find (we were going to choose this one anyways). Before the pandemic the food was excellent, but since covid they are doing boxed lunches and dinners that are delivered. Overall, I would recommend to others.

I think they are super friendly and accommodating. My mom seems to really like it. They have always been ready to help me and answer any questions. My mom likes the food. They very quickly got to know my mom and been able to give her very personalized care.

I toured Brookdale, and I really like it. I would say that the office staff was really cooperative. They had an entrance fee that I thought was quite high, and they were willing to reduce his first months rent to sort of lessen the blow of the entrance fee. Really the reason I did not choose them is because they do not accept state aid.

I toured Brookdale while looking for options for my dad. We were very comfortable with Brookdale except that it didn’t offer the level of spirituality that we were looking for. We wanted a facility that offered a lot of opportunities for spirituality, and Brookdale just wasn’t quite a fit for us.

This is a community I would recommend. So far it is working out well for my mother since her move here. I know she is in good hands, they have a nice staff at this facility. They are helpful when needed, and has been kind when I visit. The community, and her room is well-kept, they do a good job with the cleanliness. The meals are nice, and she has gotten involved in some of the activities they have available. She does an exercise every morning. She is doing well, and I'am satisfied with all they have done for us.

I really liked Brookdale when I toured. The facility was nice and the person that took me round was friendly. They were upfront with me and told me they would not be able to handle my uncle's level of care, which I appreciated rather than having to move him to another facility later.
