Found a good place for mom
Our mom has been here about 2 weeks now, she is at a high level of care with Parkinson's disease. This type of the disease causes her to lose her balance and fall, her ability to speak above a whisper and all muscle control. This makes it hard to communicate her needs but so far she informs us that she feels attended to and that they are very kind to her. The place is clean and run efficiently. My mothers only complaint is that they do not come to get her at night to use the restroom and this is new level of adjustment for her. There is plenty of food but she doesn't care for most of it, however they are fine with us bringing her foods she likes. There is not much to do but at this level they couldn't do much anyway. We found such a nice room for her and it is affordable. We did buy her a new mattress as the hospital bed was quite uncomfortable. Overall so far we are happy. Our adviser [removed] with a Place for Mom was great in helping us find this location.

At Carpel Board and Care Facility, they say everyone there is family. It's a very homey atmosphere. My mom really liked it and had a pleasant experience while there. The caregiver that cared for her was very loving and kind. They would cater to her every need. They would ask her everyday what she would like for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was great and would take her for walks. The lady that runs the facility is really kind. Overall my mom was very, very pleased with the care she was given.
