They're horrible. I pulled my loved one out because she had severe rashes under her armpits, breasts, and belly. It was a yeasty, smelly, sore rash. Brookdale never contacted me about the rash. The only reason I knew about it was because I had taken her to be evaluated for some behavioral issues they had told me about, and she lifted up her shirt at the doctor. She ended up having a UTI and needed to have her medicines adjusted. Her hygiene was horrible - she smelled really bad when I picked her up, like she hadn't been bathed in a really long time. I feel that was neglect. I quickly moved her to another facility.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. We have reviewed your concerns with our management team and wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
We really liked Brookdale. It was very nice, and a beautiful venue physically. The staff were very friendly. I have to question the continuity of the workers there. One young man who interviewed with us told my sister she could get back with him any time, that he wasn’t going anywhere. She called a week later and was told he was no longer working there. So we were left questioning what occurred there. But really the thing that swayed me elsewhere was a colleague of mine was working at another place. I knew I would be kept in the loop at that other place because I knew the nurse who worked there.
Overall they did a good job keeping covid out of the facility until mid-November. The community needs to work on its communication, My mother was quarantined and I was not communicated with her while she was. We had trouble getting them to answer the phone when we would call to check on her.
Brookdale Zanesville is more like one big family, they are very heart felt and care about everyone there. The rooms are really nice, updated and well kept. The residents can make it their own so it does not look institutional. We think their food is good, and they adhere to the residents dietary restrictions and needs.
Seems like a very nice place. We were looking at the Clairbridge section. Residents seem week cared for and engaged in what was going on. They were eating dinner when we were there. Will definitely consider this option in the future. They are all self pay though and do not take Medicaid.
We toured a lot of other communities and we feel we have made the right choice with Brookdale Zanesville. The staff is great. They are very friendly and caring. I feel comfortable that I can communicate any questions or concerns I have regarding my mom's care. We really liked the food when we first moved mom in. They recently just changed chef and my mom is not too happy with the food right now. Hopefully, the food will improve soon. They have excellent activities. I see the staff encouraging my mom and all of the residents to participate. It really feels like a family environment. We really like my mom's studio. It has a beautiful view and I brought all of her gazing balls and windchimes so it is really homey and comfortable. One of the "must have for mom" is a walking trail. They have a wonderful walking trail around the facility and a gazebo where she can get out and enjoy the outdoors. It is the number one thing that draws her out and she takes such pleasure in doing. They do offer transportation, but anything extra does cost. We got a good price on the cost because of the discount they were offering during the summer. We are very satisfied. I would highly recommend this community to others.
This seemed like a nice community when I visited. The people I met were nice and this would have been our second choice. The community looked clean and they offer daily activities.
This community was nice. I did not like the overall layout and I did not like the location of the rooms. I also did not like the location of the facility. It is way far in the cut. The staff was very nice and accommodating.
Very are gratefully pleased with them. They constantly give me updates about my mother. We live in North Carolina and they always call to tell us how she's doing and answer any of my questions. They've even called to let me know she has fell a few times and she wasn't hurt. When you toured the food was excellent and the community is very nice.
When I went to this community I felt like the nurses were super. They answered all of my questions and was very helpful. Mom seems to be doing well here and she likes it. They do a wonderful job with keeping me informed with what is going with mom as well. I like the communication.
