The staff is always nice and friendly. They'll answer any questions you have, and they answer the phone any time you call. We had some issues at the beginning with the new doctor they had there. So now we just take her to her regular doctors. The nurses there are perfectly fine, no issues there. Sometimes the food is pretty good, but other times it's just a piece of bread with some lunchmeat. That's the one thing she complains about. But overall, no issues big enough to really worry about.
Our family was able to do an in person tour and we had a great experience. The staff member we met with were super super friendly, and very helpful we have nothing bad to say. However, we did not choose the facility just due to our loved ones health condition, they needed a specific type of care, and they are more active.
I didn't have direct, in-person experience with them, but they were super good with me over the phone. They were able to get our loved one moved in in a rush. The whole thing was really hard, but they did everything they could do to help. And I appreciated that. Toward the end, they were able to hook her up with hospice services. The nurses there were very helpful, and they knew who she was. They were never like "Who?" So that was good. They also refunded the prepaid monthly amount when she passed. They gave us about a week to remove her furnishings and things. She and her lifelong friend and roommate were both nurses, and I never heard any complaints from either of them about the staff or cleanliness. And I definitely would have had there been any issues. I would definitely recommend Brookdale. After working as a nurse, my loved one always said she'd never go into a nursing home. With the higher level of care that she needed at the time, I couldn't believe that Brookdale was able to take her. But they did. And I don't know what I would have done otherwise.
I believe my mother has been well cared for during this pandemic. She expresses thanks for good care.
I am very upset that outside visits have not occurred - my dad has had to be in quarantined 3 times and 14 days each time. The metric use of move cases to determine to open is absurd! We are testing more = more cases (positivity is the metric)!!! Indiana is a state at 7, below 10 is acceptable. There must be balanced somehow. People need to see their relatives outside a screen! Test more!! And you can play bingo with during COVID! This corporation protects itself. I've called regional reps - keeps going up the chain of corporate. P.s. we were at a low at Father's Day but couldn't get anyone to move them.
My mother has been a resident of Brookdale facilities since March of 2015. She first moved into SeniorLiiving/Assisted Listing facility and was a resident there for 2.5 years. In November of 2017, she was moved to the Dementia/Alzheimer's building and is currently still residing there. Her time at both Assisted Living and the Memory care facilities has been and continue to be a wonderful experience for my mother and our family as well. She continues to enjoy the fellowship of the residents and staff. We have found the staff in both facilities to be exceptional in their care for the residents. The resident are not just people to them, they have become a part of a larger family. They treat the residents with kindness, patience, and love and that I can only happen when one devotes time to become acquainted with an individual's likes, dislikes, and history of who they were. I have great admiration for the men and women who work in these facilities, it is not an easy environment many days. But continue to rise to the occasion that is represented and strive to help in any way they can. My family and I have been given a great gift- wae have peace in knowing that our mother is being cared for and she is safe. There is no price you can put on this kind of care.
My mother moved in June 2019 after a fall and broken hip forced her to move out of independent living in her own apartment. Brookdale Valparaiso was extremely helpful during the transition period and getting my mom settled. I have been extremely pleased with the service, communication, and professionalism of Brookdale Valparaiso staff. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Brookdale staff had been proactive and consistent in policies and procedures to protect residents and staff. From the begging of the pandemic through the current times Brookdale Valparaiso staff had been firm in their commitment to safety practices even while the surrounding Valparaiso community residents and government leaders never really took the pandemic seriously early on and has apparently now given up. Please Brookdale continue to stick your guns and Thank You!
I'm very pleased with the entire staff, especially with how well they have responded during the challenging fo the Coronavirus. They have gone out fo their way to care for the residents and those of us in their families. "Hats off" to [name removed] for her leadership and the staff for their responsiveness.
[name removed] contacted me right away to confirm the tour. On Monday she called to answer questions prior to the video tour. On time, we FaceTimed with [name removed], the director. They did a nurse assessment of [name removed] and accepted her for admission. At this time we need to complete paperwork and get [name removed] moved in. Stay tuned. Brookdale looks like a good fit for my sister, we’ll see.
I toured here when looking for a place for my friend and just from what I saw, they were impressive. It was hard to make a decision but once I realized they didn’t have a skilled care level, we decided to go with a different community. I didn’t want to have to put my friend through another move because of how disruptive it can be. Things seemed to be gauged for each person and their needs and there were activities 7 days a week. There were plenty of people to help with all of those things. The staff and the communication were really good and they interacted with the other residents very well.
I toured this community . The staff member that I toured with was very nice. They informed me of what is available on the menu. This community is very clean and the staff seem attentive to the residents. They offer alot of nice activities. I would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one
Brookdale Valpariso has a very caring staff and they seem genuinely concerned about the residents. They try to get mom to join in on activities and she does sometimes. The only complaint I have is I have to ring a doorbell to get into the building and have someone let me out when I leave. This is especially frustrating if I have to go out to my car during my visit. I understand they want to keep residents safe but I think they could alter their process or have a keypad families use and change every couple months.
I was able to meet with the director and they were very accommodating to me. It took a length of time to see the place and I was able to get a thorough explanation about everything. I saw good interaction with employees and residents.
I have only visited Brookdale Valparaiso when looking for a community. I do have someone helping my mom there and they let me know the staff seem nice and take good care of her. My mom says the food is fine. The community is clean and they offer activities for the residents to participate in.
I was very touched by the compassion and understanding from your staff. They seemed to know what I was going through with my father. After we had signed the necessary paperwork and moved his belongings into his room, he became gravely ill and passed away. My one regret is that he never had the chance to move into Brookdale. I was most touched by the welcome sign that was on his door, and especially the 6pack of ginger ale and box of corn flakes cereal (his favorites) that was on his dresser waiting for his arrival. I know he would have liked living there.
High marks for everything. We like the staff and we like the place. It's very homey. It was the right choice for the situation with my mother. It is very clean. The staff has been so kind. They always make sure the residents are cared for.
Clean, many activities, supportive staff who redirect to ensure senior satisfaction. Wonderful facility. Good vibes.
A place for mom was a great place to starte I wish I would have gone to them from the very beginning it would have saved a lot of stressful days. So far Clare bridge of Valpo has been very good for dad. I like the rooms, they do not have that hospital feeling, they are more like being at home. Everyone has been great so far. Most important is that dad is safe and he knows he is loved and happy
This is a great place , the care givers and nurses are wonderful. I feel confident in the abilities of the people who work at Clare Bridge of Valparaiso and I am extremely grateful for the care they provide to my dad.
Mom has toured and says it's nice.
