Stay away from this place

I would never recommend this facility, do not waste your time or money. It was a terrible experience. They are not interested in the residents that are here and are not helpful. The facility is spread out and my husband would get confused, they do not have any signs or arrows to help you find your way, when he asked for directions the staff told him they were not paid to give directions. My husband is an avid walker and they have roads all the way around the facility. When he would go walk they called it wandering and strongly discouraged that. I got a call one day that he had a fever and was disoriented and they told me I needed to come get him. I took him to the hospital and his temp was 97, I took him back and told them he was fine and they could care less. I was told his care plan needed to be changed due to his "disorientation", they were trying to push us to memory care but they could not explain why. His room here constantly smelled and their definition of cleaning was emptying the trash. When I made complaints no one ever called me back. They do give you a really good sales pitch, but none of that is how the facility actually is.

Less than expected for the cost

They have had some issues getting help. The help that does the cleaning don't seem to come to work. I am looking to transfer my father at this time. There is one nurse for two floors so there is not a lot of help, they do the best. I do feel like this is too expensive for how much that they charge and the services provided . They don't have enough help to take care of everyone. I spoke with both of the directors and there were a lot of promises in the beginning and now they are not being carried out, it only lasted for 2 weeks.

The cottages were a perfect fit for my mom. She’s very concerned about the price difference from where she is now but it was perfect. Kind of far but beautiful.

Great for relatively independent residents, not so good for residents with higher care needs.

The selection of staff was excellent. However, the facility was greatly understaffed. My freind had a lot of health issues, and we paid extra for additional help, but we didn't get that help promptly. So it would be a great place if you were fairly independent and just needed a little bit of help. But not such a good place for someone with more health issues and needs like diabetes or someone who needed help walking. Outer common areas were very clean, no smells or anything, but we had some problems with teh lceaning staff keeping my freind's apartment clean. The facility is fairly nice, and the staff are really freindly. Ther ejust aren't enough of them. Part of that might be related to the pandemic and having problems finding people to work, but we paid a premium for extra care. and felt like she wasn't getting the care we expected for that.

I'm Very Happy Here

Know that you have to have the money. It's not cheap. They do charge, but they give you plenty for what they charge for. The building itself is marvelous. I hear practically no sounds ever. It's really quite a community here. They quality of anything I've experienced with them has been well above average. The food is a hard one. They're going to have meals that I enjoy, and they're going to have meals I don't particularly care for. But they do give you options. The meals tend to be well planned, but I tend to be a typical American eater and prefer things that may not be so good for me. Overall they really do a great job here. They have a lot of activities available, with lots of opportunities throughout the month. I'm just not as interested in them. The staff are pretty sharp. A whole lot of them call me by my first name when they see me. It's quite an organization - I've not experienced anything like this before living in standard rentals. They have help and support available for you here if you need it. I didn't realize some of the things that I needed that I'm getting here. I'm lucky to have found a good place, and I'm very happy here.

Do Your Research and Ask A Lot of Questions

I've ran into some communication with the staff. If you are dealing with the VA don't take your loved one. There is a breakdown in communication between Brookdale and the VA. The room my loved one has has a sliding glass door. The community wouldn't allow the door outside to keep the room secure. In order to put the screen in

Go to Skyline

Skyline is well maintained - service requests are answered promptly, the grounds are well kept, and snow clearing is very good. The staff is great. They're hardworking, they greet me by name, and they're very responsive. I enjoy living here.

Not pleased with experience

I chose Brookdale Skyline at the time because I was here 2 times for rehab and it was great. I figured it would be the same to live in but it wasn't. I do not think it is up to par, I don't think the staff care as much as they should and it was very expensive. I would not recommend to others.

Never go there

The facility looks beautiful from the outside, but after the covid hit, they were not cleaning at all and it was very dirty. The staff was friendly if you could find them, but we could not get ahold of the staff, we had to call security to get them to call us back. The communication was not good at all. I would not recommend this community to others.

My review of Brookdale Skyline

We chose Brookdale Skyline because it seemed to meet my mothers needs the best and it was a very nice and friendly facility. It also seemed to have a lot of options on amenities. The staff members are also very responsive to our needs and questions. I think the hardest part has been the visiting, they used to have it set up where we could visit our loved ones outside in tents during the summer, but they do not have a plan of what they will allow during the winter months. It would also be nice if they provided WIFI in the rooms so we could video chat with our loved ones. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others who are looking.

Thank you Brookdale Skyline

I recently spent 11 days in the Brookdale Skyline Rehab following surgery and I received efficient, friendly care. My move in was arranged from transportation from the hospital, to a wonderful room and paperwork easily signed. I was not allowed to get up by myself the first day and when I rang for assistance it came quickly. Not wanting heavy foods I made some choices that were not on the menu and the kitchen staff prepared my choices. The PT and OT staff went out of their way to help me recover and walk with their encouragement and patience. Thank you to the entire staff at Brookdale Skyline for my recovery.

THIS PLACE WENT DOWN HILL!!!!!!

This Review is for the Assisted Living, Most of the staff are good! This place has gone WAY downhill!!!! I would NOT recommend this place at all. Way overpriced!!!! Always getting medications messed up and late. They just don't have enough help! Not sure why they have call buttons? takes them over and hour to answer them at times? The food is below average at best!!

THIS PLACE WENT DOWN HILL!!!!!!

This place was GOOD to years ago, but now i would not recommend it at all!!!! The staff is great!! But must be way under paid? They never have enough help! The food is not that good, they over cook the vegetable to the point you cant eat them!!!!! And the place is over priced!! I would move my Mom out if she would let me? but thinks it would be to much of a hassle at her age? The laundry room is the PITS, old dryers that do not work half of the time, and unless you don"t want your clothes shrunk you better wash them yourself!!!!

Mixed Thoughts

I have a hard time getting ahold of someone who can tell me about how my dad is doing, like does he need a haircut? Or asking a question, like "How often is his apartment dusted?" Often staff seems harried when they can be found. My dad has a hard time remembering anything for long so my questions are important to me as a judge as to how he is doing. He is in a safe spot and doesn't have a lot of visitors. My dad likes Skyline Brookdale's Assisted Living Faciltity and that is what matters most. We won't move him.

Not Impressed

She is there for rehab and has hardly had any rehab done. They just give her the meds with no personal attention for physical therapy. Communication with the patients from the medical staff is extremely poor. They just keep her bedridden and take a very long time to respond to her requests. A very unorganized facility in all aspects.

Ideal Location

Overall, I feel that my experience with Brookdale Skyline has been good. There have been some glitches and miscommunications along the way, but they are often willing to come up with a solution that suits both of us. They have a full schedule if activities her including a gym and a pool. I also find that the community is clean and well-maintained, and I feel its location is ideal. Brookdale has an excellent reputation, and for the most part, I think they've done a good job so far. I'm pleased.

disappointed

My Mother lived here and I was not impressed at all. she lived there just over a month. My mother was living in what they call the cottages / senior living. When she moved in the garbage disposal stunk so bad the whole house stunk, both toilets leaked onto the floor the entire time. Maintenance came out multiple times and never fixed the issue. when we moved her belongings out, the toilets were still leaking. My mother would have to turn on and off the toilet supply line to use the bathroom. The disposal was never addressed. It has a fell of "temporary" and are approached like it's all about the money. It looks beautiful, but that's where it stops. They suck you in, and start drainings Moms bank account. Very disappointed.

Glad we made this choice

My mom is very happy at Brookdale Skyline. She loves the food there and likes the fact they have a bus that takes them to the grocery store. The staff and caregivers are very attentive. The community is very clean I am very glad we made this choice. I was really impressed with it.
