Folks around here seem to go above and beyond. Not only with the primary care but it's also all the little things that they do as well. I feel very comfortable that I'm leaving my wife in good hands here. Steve in particular is very kind, attentive and just makes my wife feel comfortable, mentally as well as physically. Those things that can be embarrassing are so well handled that they're just not awkward at all with him. I believe [name removed] has found his calling in this line of work. Bravo!!... Read more

My mom is very happy with the staff. Her biggest complaint, and other residents, is the food. The fried chicken is not good, they use pressed turkey, the service is slow and if you aren't early enough they will run out of things. There have been times that my mom goes back to her apartment and has a bowl of cereal. She is one of the lucky ones that can still drive, so she can go out to eat if she doesn't go far. But the food is included for her almost $[removed] a month. They should be able to do better. She's been told that the menu comes from the "top". Of course they don't eat there. Also they took the chairs from sitting outside, where they can watch the cars go by, and want them to sit in an enclosed area. All they see there is the building. Food #1 problem and that's a big #1. Hopefully this will be read by someone who cares and can make changes.

August 4, 2023Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. While we are grateful that your mom is happy with our staff, we are genuinely sorry to hear about her experience with our dining services. We strive for excellence in the care of our residents and we appreciate your feedback as it assists us to make improvements in our processes. Thank you.
My mother transitioned from another facility with very short notice. Information was excellent and timely. Staff is very genuine, uses common sense and truly care about the residents. Room sizes are generous in assisted living and give the residents as much independence as they can handle and the care they need. The communication has been excellent and the attention to apartment satisfaction by the maintenance staff has been above and beyond expectation. Socialization transition has been excellent. Billing has been transparent and convenient. We moved my mother here very quickly from a bad situation based on recommendation from a friend and I would absolutely do the same. This is third facility my mother has lived in over 10 years, starting in Independent and transitioning to assisted living.

February 28, 2023Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We are so happy to hear about your mother's experience with us.
our mother went there from the hospital for "rehabilitation". she had a fractured back and was unable to get out of bed or care for herself. After being there for a few days she was placed in a quarantined room because, we were told, she had covid. Her food was delivered to her on a disposable tray and usually placed outside her reach with no one to help her eat or drink. they would just throw the tray away and replace it with the next tray when it came. we found her soiled most days when we came. after she was removed from quarantine to a regular room she was still vomiting and having diarrhea. she could hardly eat by this time and so was placed on a soft diet-which she never received. we came the day after christmas to find our mom lying in a massive amount of green, smelly stool-which no one seemed to notice, so we cleaned her up. we had her transferred the next day to the hospital where she was found to be severely dehydrated, with diverticulitis and a uti.

Aspen Trace provides a safe, caring place for my loved one to live. The apartment is comfortable and the housekeeping staff work hard to keep things clean and inviting. My loved one enjoys eating in the dining room and visiting with other residents. They have recently hired a new activity director and we are hopeful more outings will be scheduled soon.

My loved one stayed at Aspen Trace for rehabilitation following a hospital stay. This family member was found several times connected to an oxygen machine that was either not plugged in to the wall or attached to a portable one which had run out of oxygen. My loved one also experienced a genital rash due to lack of bathing. My family was told bathing and physical rehab is regularly scheduled and often neither were completed. It was extremely difficult to request a chest x-ray, etc. when it was clear our loved one was suffering from a chest infection/pneumonia. There was an extremely long wait once the call button was pushed, likely due to lack of staffing. The food was horrible and was usually delivered whole (if at all), not following the mechanical soft (pureed), physician ordered preparation. When my family requested help from the front desk staff, nurses, or aides., it was as though you are inconveniencing them and an annoyance. Beware of using this facility for you or your family.

[name removed] who did the initial intake and took us on the tour was fantastic, she was so sweet. The maintenance gentlemen [name removed] we have to give a shout out to because he was been phenomenal. He has gone out of his way, above and beyond helping our loved one set up her personalized curtains, set up her TV and cable. He has been so attentive and accommodating. Our loved one is extremely happy with the meals and dining service. The dining hall is super nice and conducive. They are really great about bringing our loved one breakfast in the morning to her room if she does not want to go to the dining room. She usually eats her other meals in the dining hall and enjoys socializing. They have a lot of activities going on, they do a ladies tea and a ladies lunch in. They have church services, different cards games and an excellent library where the residents like to come and gather. They have good puzzles in the library and a nice fireplace in another part of the community where residents with gather at.

Our biggest frustration has been some billing issues, mostly because my loved one is cohabitating with another person. So splitting the bill has been an issue. Also, he had to be qualified to get a scooter, and it took almost a month to get that done. Initially there was also some lack of communication and teamwork between Aspen Trace and the VA, but that was finally sorted out. My loved ones seems to be more involved socially than he was at a previous facility and enjoys playing cards. So that has been an improvement.

The community was not there for the tour and they would not provide one. Overall bad experence.
I thought the nurses were very good. The business office was good to work with. The food was good. They switched the food service company while we were there and it got better. They have done a good job with Covid-19. The room sizes and layout of the community were good.

A Place for Mom has scored Aspen Trace 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
