Arden Courts in Old Orchard is a great memory care community for my mother. First, the
administrative staff are excellent. It is a hard decision to place a parent in a memory care
community, but the staff were so incredibly helpful. They educated and spent time with me discussing the transition and expectations. The nurse and directors were very attentive to the emotional stress that families encounter. They held my hand. My mom acclimated well over 2 months, and if she is comfortable then so am I. The direct care staff are attentive and kind to the clients. I have seen them both comfort clients and celebrate with them. The staff who run activities are energetic and positive. There is a fair amount for the clients to do: music, chair exercises, religious services, special events like dancing and music, and off-site activities for some clients like theater and meals out. The activities staff at Arden Courts keep the clients busy, and my mom is doing so much more there than she was at home. The center is clean, and the layout is nice. There are 4 “houses” or wings that accommodate 16 clients, and it is all on one level which gives it the appearance of being small. I like this aspect. It does not seem that anyone will get lost or be unsupervised, and there is enough room for the clients to roam about. The outside courtyards are well kept and roomy. I also like that Arden Courts specializes in dementia. That is all they do, and this is important. If there were other populations of aging adults without dementia on site, I would expect that those with dementia may not be regarded as important or forgotten due to their special needs. However, at Arden Courts, every consideration is for aging adults with dementia. I highly recommend this memory care community to those looking.

They treat their residents like family
I am so happy with them. They treat their residents like family. All of these types of facilities are soooo expensive but at Arden I feel I am getting exceptional care so that makes the cost palatable.

A good place for your loved one or Highly Recommended
Overall, Arden Courts Old Orchard is an excellent facility for my mother to live. The staff is wonderful, compassionate and caring, supportive, attentive. [name removed] , the Executive Director, is very hands on and runs a smooth operation of the facility, with support of her wonderful staff! I couldn't ask for more for my mother's "new home"! I am so very grateful for that.

It was a hard decision to move my husband to memory care. But the administration and staff at Arden Courts Old Orchard are loving, competent, and excellent care givers. I am finally feeling at peace, knowing my husband is in good hands.

Overall a Good Experience
This has been a great experience for my loved one and family. The staff have been really good about addressing the needs of our loved one and other residents. They really care for the different stages of the resident's memory care journey. I really have only good things to say about our experience with Arden Courts.
The staff communication with the family has been good. They are good at trying to engage the residents in activities.

Peace of mind for our loved ones
The staff members at Arden Courts A ProMedica Community are just above and beyond helpful and loving towards the residents. This can be a difficult decision for families but they are so equipped to provide clean, loving care and dignity to those in need! On social media alone I have recommended at least 6 people looking for a memory care facility for a loved one!

Nursing staff is horrible found the temps cared more about you. The rehab staff was excellent 5 stars for them . A lot of fighting between shift changes. Dayshift leaving work for 2 nd shift. Then 2nd shift takes it out on patients. I rate it a 5 for the rehab people and a 2 for their nurses n 4 for temps

Our families experience
I want to add there are wonderful aides there that are employees of Arden Courts and then there are Agency people(temps)not so good. Did not feel the nursing staff was good, besides 1 or 2 people. Most were very indifferent to patients falling. Example: my mom fell, hit her head/eye area, nurse was called, looked at it and left. I had to ask the aide for an ice pack and I held it on my mom's eye. There was a lack of sympathy there. Another example was mom had a raging fever and when I got there in the morning she had been left that way all night with no treatment. The aides are supposed to check in on the patients but at night allot of the care was not good. Daytime was much better, some very quality people. Not enough aides per patient but I'm told that's a federal thing. Also there are no help I've fallen bracelets or necklaces and my mom did fall and lay by herself, I found her once, my dad found he once and another patients son found her once. So in summary they should legally HAVE to have a button to push for help at all times. Also top manager did not seem empathetic, and when she showed up after my mom died came across fake. I know nursing homes are not great and I was told by hospice that this was one of the best so.....what can I say. I also felt I needed to be there constantly unless certain aides were on duty.

So far so good
So far things are going very well at Arden Courts of Old Orchard. It is a facility that strictly focuses on memory care. The staff here are able to care for my husband and much more willing to work with him and they have a plan. Any issues that we had at our previous facility have not been issues here. The facility is BEAUTIFUL. It is set up with a center area to walk around and my husband loves that. Each corner has what they call a "house" and each house has about 16 residents and also has its own kitchen, living room, and dining room. There is tons of space for residents to roam. The staff have a walkie talkie system so if residents roam to another house, they are able to find them. The director is super understanding and receptive to any needs, they have been so flexible with us. I have peace of mind having him here and would definitely recommend to others.

A caring and safe place for your loved one with dementia
I think its a really good setup for someone with memory issues, probably the best in the area.
The fact that the whole building was designed for memory care was definitely important and I like the way they are setup in houses. In regards to the staff I think everyone really loves their jobs there, they are super friendly. Communication was good to very good, it could be tough at times because there are different shifts, so sometimes you wouldn't necessarily know what was happening unless someone called you in the middle of the night, but that would be the case for any place like this. Overall I would recommend Arden Courts of Old Orchard to others.

Not your "ordinary" senior living
Arden Courts of Old Orchard has been absolutely amazing!
They have been really caring and in touch with us, about not only my moms needs, but me and my family's' needs. They've even offered us help with counseling and group therapy sessions, because it is a difficult process to go through. They've been outstanding with the level of care and attention given to our family.

Moving mom during pandemic
We moved mom from a memory care unit on a large campus to Arden Courts Old Orchard during the pandemic. The move went rather smooth considering we couldn't enter her living area. She was settled in nicely. She has made friends & isn't calling to come home as much. She has more opportunity to walk outside, engaged in social events. Our visits are so nice.

A very happy place!
Our family toured this facility, and we were extremely happy and pleased. This community was only a couple years old at the time. We really liked how it looked super cozy, it was very bright and had a warm feeling to it. We immediately sat down with the marketing director to place our loved one here. Everyone was very friendly, it was kept very clean. It was not depressing looking, and it didn't look like a nursing home. It had a nice kitchen area, dining room and a living room
Our loved one was in the memory care facility for just a couple of months. The overall value of this community is good. Everyday there was something going on for the residents, they did a good job trying to keep everyone busy and involved.

Peace of Mind
I feel that they really care about my mother and my mother is really happy. I feel there are enough activities for her and she enjoys them. She has made a friend, which is also nice for her. We are able for facetime will her during the COVID-19 lock down, which we like. The communication is excellent. They call us with everything. She seem to like the food. I has no complaints.

My Dad has been living at Arden Courts since March of 2018. Within the last five months the staff has changed my father from a very confused and depressed man to one who has become alert and eager to help as well as participate in daily activities. The medical staff took the time to correct his medication which in turn brought my father back to us. Without their assistance Dad would still be suffering. The kitchen staff has also gone to great lengths to accommodate his need for a soft diet. The facility is cheerful, clean and set up to make it as easy as possible for their residents.
