The director and office staff were pleasant and helpful. They always had time for us if we had a question. They kept Mom clean and changed and the apartment and common rooms were clean and cheery. There was plenty of room for dining and the menu was varied and seemed good. I never found her unattended and the staff were genuinely caring. The large yard with paved walkways was pleasant and provided a chance to enjoy the outdoors and small wildlife ( birds and squirrels). Mom had been a flight risk at her previous assisted living and the security at Arden was excellent. The price was very reasonable since it included room, board, security, and medical care. I did tour 6 facilities before settling on Arden and we were pleased with our choice. Thanks for helping us find a place for our Mom. \n\nI should add that Mom wasn't there very long. Only 3 and a half months and her dementia had progressed to where she wasn't interested in many activities, so I can't really speak to that part. She watched a few movies and I took her to the craft room a few times, but that's about it. She passed away last Wednesday and I was moved by the little ceremony that they performed when the funeral home arrived to take her. They covered the gurney with a homemade quilt, escorted us to the porch, and said a prayer to send her out with the angels. Value for money is very reasonable as everything is included. In total there are 4.2 acres to wander through. And because our land is fully secured, wandering is encouraged. This makes our community unique and as free as possible for memory care residents.
