Assisted living communities provide residential communities and health care to persons who may require help with cooking meals or dressing. The types of service offered often include assistance with the activities of daily life. Inhabitants may be kept under observation and assessment. Under certain circumstances, communities may provide hospice, respite, or nursing care. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as physical examination, social accommodations, and assess each resident€™Ã‚¢Ã…¡s cognitive status upon admission. Staff members obtain training in a variety of areas. These include: proper use restraints, mandatory reporting policies, emergency procedures, and care of persons with unique needs. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication administration , evaluated by pharmacist and licensed nurse , and Residents may self-administer drugs.
