These provisions include assistance with self-administration of medications, the instructions must be written, and Staff administering medications must be instructed by an RN. Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) Waiver programs (Elderly, Traumatic Brain Injury, Community Alternatives for Disabled Adults, and Community Alternative Care).This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include laundry , assessments of the residents physical and cognitive needs by a registered nurse, reasonable assistance with arranging transportation, and medication administration. Staff members obtain education in a number of subjects. These include: the residents physical, emotional, and developmental needs, 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years in topics relevant to the operations of the establishment and residents needs, the aging process , and he home care bill of rights.
