Assisted living communities offer organized living communities and aid for your loved one who may need a helping hand with cooking food or dressing. Assisted living communities frequently provide supervision of care, help with appointments and transportation, and opportunities for organized activity. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 6. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include menus must be planned based on The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, residents must have input into the selection of food served and the timing of meals, and therapeutic diets are provided if included in the negotiated service agreement.
