An assisted living community is a residential community which offers care, aid, and supervision to healthy seniors who do not require skilled nursing support. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as a negotiated risk plan will be established, A comprehensive assessment, evaluation must be updated at least semi-annually or when a significant change in condition occurs, and community will identify scope of care based on evaluation. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include preparation of prescribed medications, resident must be observed for effects of medications and undesirable effects must be documented and the resident’s physician notified, and Medications may be administered under physician’s order by licensed nursing personnel or qualified medication aides.
