This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as medical examination by a physician prior to admission and plan of care developed by the community in cooperation with the resident and, if appropriate, their representative. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 2. Staff members receive education in a variety of fields. These include: applicable rules and statutes, basic first-aid, confidentiality, and fire and environmental safety.
