Delray Beach is a small city located on the southeastern coast of Florida. The city enjoys almost year-round pleasant weather, which is best experienced on the multiple miles of public beaches located within the city. The area is famous for its beaches, which offer great opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The wreck of the Inchulva, located in the shallows just off the public beach, provides an amazing habitat for local sea life.

Those interested in exploring the arts scene of Delray Beach will enjoy the Pineapple Grove Arts District, which has a number of art galleries and public art installations. There is also the nearby Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden which offers classes, workshops, and tea ceremonies. To learn about the history of Delray Beach, visit the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum or the Delray Beach Historical Society.

The city of Delray Beach offers a number of activities and amenities for those who enjoy outdoor recreation. The Delray Beach Tennis Center is a public tennis facility with 26 different courts. The city also operates two public golf courses – the Delray Beach Golf Club and the Lakeview Golf Club. In total, Delray Beach has 42 different parks and public spaces to enjoy, with many of these spaces located along one of the city’s many beaches. One of the city’s most popular destinations is the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, a public wetlands park with a three-quarter-mile boardwalk. The boardwalk offers an amazing glimpse into the local biodiversity and provides a chance to spot some of the area’s local inhabitants, such as alligators, turtles, and over 151 different species of birds.


Local bus services in the area are provided by Palm Tran, which operates bus routes throughout Palm Beach County. Rail service is available through the Tri-Rail commuter system and Amtrak, which has a station in Delray Beach. There is also a free shuttle service known as Downtown Roundabout that connects the station to downtown Delray Beach.
