They accommodated his specific needs that most assisted living would not. It is not the best place. But most definitely not the worst. Staff not very attentive.

Don’t expect the staff to care for your loved ones

This place is absolutely horrible at caring for your loved ones. Once the relatives leave, they treat your family member more like an inmate than a person. They have little to no regard for the physical well-being of the people you entrusted them to care for. This is more of a death camp than a care facility, don’t be fooled by their smiles and false words, they want your money and fail to follow through with what they promise.

Administration Lies

The care staff at Bentley is wonderful. Unfortunately, [removed]. We were told that my mother, who has Alzheimer's and congestive heart failure, could remain at Bentley until she died as long as she did not need skilled nursing care. Mother has lived there for two years, and she knows and loves the staff. She is in her fifth month of hospice care. The administration at Bentley has now told us that they can no longer care for Mother. They have given us 30 days to move her out. She will never recognize the staff at a new facility or recognize the facility itself. Moving her at this point is unnecessarily cruel.

Our Family Experience

Mom never made it to the facility, went to hospital and could not live independently. However facility was not trying to give a refund all money. I had to call Better Business Bureau to get done. Without the Better Business Bureau help we would not have received. I do not recommend. Staff was not as appeared

Disappointing Experience

Experience was awful, and traumatic. Staff lacks training with dementia. You can't ask a person with dementia anything like would you like to take a shower. Have to say let's get you in the shower, use pleasant but firm voice.Brought meals to her even though I'd emphasized need to walk her to dining hall for meals. I moved her. So disappointing since price and room were good. I would not recommend Jackson Oaks unless it has changed tremendously.

Once again NO hot water !! It continues , never know if you can take a shower. Nothing changes or improves. It’s cold this morning and I would like to take a shower. Not only affects showers, it affects washing clothes and doing dishes.

Staff go through your rooms when you are not there. I have lost money that I hid. There are a few staff who are WONDERFUL. But others who are lazy and treat you poorly.

Employees DO NOT RESPOND to residents & smells like urine & feces

I only had my mom in The Landings at Norcross for 2 months. There were many issues with this community but the most serious was the emergency call light. Either it was broken, rung to a different room, caregivers did not respond to it or lack/delayed of response (as long as 1.15 hrs). I filed a complaint with Bridge Senior Living, management company, and worked with my Ombudsman. I also filed a complaint with the HFR as my last resort thinking if they got involved, the issue would be fixed. Coincidently, a few days after I heard that the HFR Compliance Specialist called the Executive Director, I was given a 30 Day Notice because The Landings were not able to meet my needs....not my mother's needs (the resident) but my needs. The ED verbally gave me the 30 Day Notice, never written documentation. I have since moved my mother out of the facility. This is the most unprofessional company full of unkept promises who would rather kick out a resident versus fix the problem. Smells terrible!

Would never recommend this community

Our loved one was only there for a couple of weeks and had to serious falls the resulted in them going to the hospital. We did try to give the community the opportunity to get to know our loved one, and for our loved one to adjust to them but it was a terrible experience. The rose wing is their memory care unit, and during our loved ones stay their dementia progressive way to quickly. Our loved one was very physically active and energetic and at the end of two weeks they had lost their mobility. The care that was not shown to our loved one was detrimental. Before our loved one moved in they promised us all the bells and whistles and that they could take care of our loved one, but not one of those promises were met. They do not take care of their memory care patients. Half the time when we visited the med techs and aids were mingling and hanging out with each other and ignoring the needs of their residents, they treat them like dogs. The meals there looked awful, all full of sodium and looked like slop.

Poor communication

The management/ownership of this facility (which is new as of a year ago) are very poor communicators. Not sure if this is due to being understaffed or they just do not care to reply to occasional emails or voice mails. The substantial monthly fees being paid are not commensurate with the services received.

what you see isnt what they get

RAs and CNAs are fantastic although the team as a whole has a lot of miscommunication. From the medtechs to RAs. The management is rude uncaring and understaffed. Other residents have told me and my mother that the house keeping does not clean their rooms or the halls, upper level management does not know the residents by name/face and they do not speak when walking by. Management seem money hungry and only show you the rooms that they fix up. You do not see the residents rooms that are not fixed up for you to see. Activities directors do nothing for the residents in memory care they never take them outside there are only 3-4 residents who really get to go outside from memory care and activities is painting nails and watching movies up there. After hearing what my mother tells me and really listening in it sounds like nothing really gets taken care of. Will be moving her out. This place really needs to get shut down. The new LPN clearly is not happy to be at work dresses very unprofessional. Acts very unprofessional. Unappreciative of staff as well. Terrible place. Please do not move your family in here.

Neglect

my husband was there 8 days total it took 4 days to be put on shower list.( I gave him shower) it also took 4 days for laundry list. He never had blood sugar taken. He was listed as diabetic He fell twice in the night. A new sleep aid was started by Dr. and he was to be watched for side effects. After the falls as his POA I asked for medication to be stopped. When returning home with medications. I found he was given sleep aid 6 more times. He was in a state of complete confussion. unsteady on his feet. He told the nurse he had burning when urinating. I requested his urine checked. It never was. As a fulltime caregiver and wife. I feel awful for the neglect I put him through.
