Very good tours - saw many units in the facility. [name removed] is very good at interacting with my brother. I found that [name removed] would like to be in a facility with a swimming pool . . . AND be able to go out front door and walk to stores as well as restaurants if possible.

A good fit!

My friend is doing very well since his move into AlmaVia. The staff was defiantly what sold the place. They are very compassionate and attentive! I would recommend this facility because we have had a good experience with them so far.

Good impression

We looked at this community during the senior living search for my father. It was very clean and had a good atmosphere. I wasn't able to try the food during the tour. The regular tour person wasn't on staff so the maintenance guy showed me around but he was very nice.

AlmaVia seems to be unique, in that it is a non-profit that was founded by a church, that celebrates all religions and also provides a strictly secular focus based on the residents' personal choices. With daily on-site registered nurses, and memory care if needed in the future, it looks to be the perfect solution for my mother in law, who is 93, still somewhat independent, but also approaching a point where she will need more care. There are also many opportunities for residents to be involved in a wide variety of activities, including resident "clubs", which indicates a level of resident interest that is rare among such facilities. We are very happy to have found AlmaVia.

I would give them a five so far, they have been very good.

They have been very helpful and good about asking questions, and getting things taken care of once we got moved in. The food is actually quite good, and they have live entertainment, and she thinks that is good. She participates in the activities. The staff are very nice and helpful. It was more of an apartment/hotel kind of feel. I would give them a five so far, they have been very good.

Very Accommodating to Family

They are very friendly, have a lot to do and accommodating to the family. They try very hard to incorporate the new residents. My parents have been there a month and a half, The staff are very sweet and most of them already know my name. They keep in communication with me and the food is very good which is a big deal for my parents.

Best Assisted Living Community in SF

Alma Via of SF is quite large, with three floors, two wings on the 2nd & 3rd floors dedicated to Memory Care. The staff here are caring, professional, and most of all, make the resident & family feel like family. My mother is in the Memory Care Unit for dementia. Here, they have excellent activities throughout the day, engaging the residents in fun activities they enjoy. The Gardens are quite nice, roomy, and very clean. The other residents appear to be very happy and well cared for. The Assisted Living areas are like being in a large hotel. The main dining room is quite nice - our family has had several meals there - good food & lots to chose from! I highly recommend Alma Via of San Francisco for your loved one.

Apartment units are very spacious, grounds well kept, many sitting areas both inside and outside, all corridors are clear for passage, public bathrooms kept clean, dinning hall bright and cheery, many activities and social areas, religious room for all faiths are represented (very favorable), it's just felt like home.

It was beautiful but expensive.

It was beautiful but expensive. It seemed they went out of their way to craft things for each person individually. They had a lot of religious things, and brought school kids in for different things, we saw a Jr high student interviewing a resident when we were here.

Excellent-consistent service

My mother has spent time in several assisted living facilities and this has been her best experience by far. They communicate consistently with her and I and its easy to reach anyone you need to talk to. The facility itself is quite new and my mom's apartment is clean and well-maintained. They've gotten my mom to be enthusiastic about quite a few of the activities, which was a pleasant surprise for me.
