Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but cost of owning a home and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might deter them from an independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a good solution to this situation. Daily needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are accounted for, allowing occupants more free time to live life as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private medical providers, they may always do so. There are a number of advantages and expenditures to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in the care plan: housekeeping, Waiting list deposit, internet access, laundry, wellness program, parking, field trips, and move-in fee. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include security guards, private rental hall, healthcare center, concierge services, restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, laundry service, and fitness center & swimming pool.
