Review ofSouth Port Square, a CCRC
5.0

I feel so blessed to have had my parents stay at South Port Square. The staff became like family to me. I was in Ohio and could only get there twice a year. When my dad was dying they treated him like a king and made his passing as peaceful as possible. I highly recommend it! It was a God send for me to know how well cared for my parents were.

I live far from my mom who is in assisted living in Bradenton. The staff have gone way above and beyond to help make things work. Kind and patient with my mom who has dementia, excellent working with me. When I call them I know that they will take care of business, no screw ups. Its such a relief knowing there is help for my mom when i can't be there to take care of things. They are responsive to phone calls even after hours, and reliable solving problems. I can't say enough good about Home Helpers.

The owner came and talked to my loved one. He showed concern for his needs and gave us time to think about it. We didn't feel any pressure to sign up. There was a special when we did sign up. They really listened to his preferences on a caregiver. She's wonderful. She'd do anything for my loved one. I thought it would be a little hard to adjust to not doing things myself and allowing her to help. But she's been great.

They're very attentive. They go out of their way to make sure you have the same caregiver consistently. The caregivers are timely and flexible. If things don't work out with a particular caregiver, they don't send that person back to your house.

I went with them primarily because the person they sent over lived close by. The caregiver that was chosen is an RN but she ended up having the viewpoint of an anti-vaxxer which turned me off a little. She was nice and took him in her car places so there are not big complaints. It was a very limited experience.
