My brother and I moved our mother into Paradise Village Senior Living in 2012. My mother and father were married at the ages of 18 and 19, living their whole life together. When my father passed, it was hard for my mother getting use to living alone. PVSL was awesome in making my mom feel right at home. My mom loves living at PVSL. My brother and I know if something happens to my mother we will be notified immediately, which gives us piece of mind knowing mom can live still live in an Independent Living Community and knowing she is safe at all times. Stephanie [Removed] put in a new kitchen so the residents would have freshly prepared meals and not to have to have catered meals brought in. Ms. [Removed] made several upgrades to the property when she took the property over making it a gorgeous and peaceful place to call home. The clubhouse is awesome with chairs for the residents to sit outside and visit around the pool and view the beautiful surroundings. Awesome Place for Mom!!!!!... Read more

The new owners of this community put money into the front offices and not into the community. I would definitely recommend that you make them give you a tour of the complete community. The food is bad and is brought in from outside. We were in her room and pulled the chain for assistance and we did not hear anything for about 8 minutes. The nurse was hanging the wash on the line outback.

Response from Zen Senior Living
August 30, 2016Although we make every effort to resolve concerns we are not able to satisfy everyone. We take pride in our on-site team, 24 hour response to pull cords. The Executive Director hired in April lives on-site as well. Response time is under 4 mins to any apartment. We have a head Chef who in fact cooks all meals on-site from scratch. We do not cater out food unless for special events at the residents request. If you would like to see that changes made and come tour we welcome a second look.
I have lived at PVSL for over two years now. it is a wonderful place to reside at. The staff at PVSL is continually trying to improve and make the residents lives better. There are a vast number of activities that any resident can participate and take advantage of. One can use the library, the pool, or any othe other amenties at PVSL. The grounds are kept up at all times, which makes for a terrific living atmosphere. I would reccomend PVSL to anyone who desires a safe, friendly, place to reside at.

This place is a disaster. I would not recommend for any senior considering moving there. The new owner, Stephanie [removed], is rude, uncaring and treats both her young staff and the residents with disdain. My beloved mother had died and we were in the long difficult process of moving her belongings. Stephanie [removed] had authorized her Executive Director, Chris, to go into my moms apartment and take virtually all of her stuff and our family heirlooms. She did not ask permission. When we found out about it and asked her, she went off on a tirade, told us we were lying and she had no idea. Well, once we called the Police on her, she admitted to it, but had the audacity to tell the officer that we didn't love our mother and put her in Hospice just to die. She really is a troubled person and I pray for her soul, because it is very dark. We only recovered less than a third of what she took out of the apartment and we are suing her in court. The previous landlord, Cindy, was an amazing and caring woman who loved and took after the staff and people who lived there. Since Stephanie [removed] took over, the place has gone down the tubes. We would caution anybody considering moving her to look elsewhere. She is fake and deceitful while she is selling you on a unit to buy, but her personality will change for the worse once you're a tenant. STAY AWAY!

Response from Zen Senior Living
August 30, 2016This issue has been sent to civil court and the issues are being dealt with in a professional manner. While we make every effort to resolve conflict the situation surrounding a loved one's death is emotional and unfortunate.
If you love your family, you do NOT want to move them here. The Owner is the farthest from compassionate or accommodating to Seniors. The apartments are not ADA compliant, the handicap lift for the pool was removed at the owners request, the Owner has discontinued most activities, the transportation "included" in the rent is often broken down, although it is advertised as "utilities included" the Owner will often add extra charges to your monthly bill for "over" limit use, and most residents are in early stages of dementia and require assisted living. I feel so sorry for residents. The Owner harasses and repeatedly violates the rights of the elderly residents. Unfortunately their families are detached and often do not have knowledge of how their loved ones are treated.

Response from Zen Senior Living
August 30, 2016Continued postings from the same family members are unfortunate. We are making every effort to resolve the Hiller's concerns and will continue to do so through the legal system.
Things are fine for us over here at Paradise Village and we very pleased with everything. My sister has been having a great time with the other residents and participated in few new activities. The food is okay I think they need a better cook but over all we are please with everything they have done for us very happy with A Place For Mom.

Things are going okay. Nothing is perfect, but they are going pretty well. The woman who helped my Mom get set up there is no longer there, so we are not very happy with that, but overall it is going pretty well.

Paradise Village Senior Living is an excellent place for my mom, who is 80. The facilities, although 30 years old, have been recently refreshed and renovated, and Mom's two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is spacious and inviting. The staff is ever so friendly and have made Mom feel at home, even though she makes heavy use of their individualized shuttle service to go to her off-campus activities. The activities include an active bridge group, which has also welcomed Mom in and contributed to her feeling of belonging and being wanted. The full-size mid-day dinners are delicious and nutritious; the value for the dollar is quite good. I sincerely have only good to say about Paradise Village Senior Living.

It's wonderful here. My husband and I are 65 and 68 I don't think you should wait until you turn 80 to go. It gives you time to get adjusted and acquainted. I'm not quite that old yet so I don't play bingo but I do join in in some of the other activities. I am helping them put together a wellness program. It is very cozy and well kept here and very friendly. We have already met friends here and they are all very nice.

This independent retirement community located in Phoenix, Arizona has evolved over the past year into a caring, respectful, and pleasurable place to reside at due to the outstanding efforts of hard-working Stephanie Anderson, the owner and Sheena Martin who is the Executive Director. Also, Cyndi Freeman has been her usual energetic advocate for all the residents.

I had some issues with them while moving in and they could improve on communication between each other, but the overall experience after the move-in has been good and the residents are friendly and they offer a lot of activities.

I really loved the community type feel at paradise Village. The place looks fabulous and it is very clean. The units are large with patios and outdoor courtyards for my dog. The new chef and his home baked breads are so good I am finally able to gain some weight back. We have a large group of men who eat lunch together everyday that are great. I moved from a Brookdale community nearby and Paradise Village trumps them in every aspect except price. The price I pay now is 50% LESS than I did 2 years ago and I am happier with more friends and better food!!

I have lived at Paradise Village Senior Living for a few years now. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else; this place is home! We are a tightknit community and we’re more like family then neighbors. The friendly staff is always so helpful and ready to lend a hand when needed. I would highly recommend Paradise Village Senior Living!! If you are in the neighborhood stop by for a movie or even a game of Bingo :)

Staff is very attentive and takes care of everything, the only thing that I have a complaint is the kitchen, they are in the process of building it and have to get food from the hospital.
