For my Woodland Creek tour: The facility is beautiful and the staff was very nice and very helpful. However, I saw too many people congregating around the nurses station just hanging out for my comfort level. That said, this might have been my second choice if the first didn't work out.
1. While most of the staff is kind, I don't they often utilize proven methods of dealing with dementia patients. Maybe more training is required. 2. Never saw the 'Sensory Spa' for agitated patients being used. It was always locked. 3. They keep everyone at the nurses station, and seem helpless to successfully control combative behavior. 4.They will lose all your loved one's clothing and shoes, maybe even if labeled. Better to take them home and launder yourself.

There has been a multitude of staff turn over including the director and the chef as well as others in less than 9 months we've been there- let alone basically lied to regarding the "brain friendly" diets! Very disappointed with the facility especially for her cost.

The tour we had smaller number of residents, and when my loved one moved in they didn't have enough staff as the resident count increased. The community won't take any responsibility for their short comings. I wouldn't recommend the community to anyone. The community needs everything in blister packs to be able to handle medication management. The nurse seemed to be the only one knowing what to do; however, she looked overwhelmed by everyone asking her what to do for their job.
Beautiful facility and grounds. If only the care matched. Mom entered [date removed] - After mo 1, care declined. Unsanitary suite, food items left on floor, wrote name in dust on nightstand, trash/diapers overflowed, she began falling at night & calling by phone for help - staff didn’t hear or acknowledge screams. Severe diaper rash left open wounds. Cradle cap (first time) that it took 3 months to order special shampoo for, despite many asks. They kept forgetting. Daytime sedation rendered her unable to be roused. Woodland claimed treating for pain. Due to lack of movement (abington hospital’s dx) her legs and feet swelled, developed skin breakage and wounds, rendering her immobile. Others at the facility experienced the same. When new admin hired ([date removed]) they declared mom a two person assist and evicted her. (Practice known as ‘dumping’) This is after she went to the hospital for contracting Covid. Now living back at home. Dignity and physical health have returned. Beware!

This community is going through a lot of transition at the time. At this point in time I would be careful to what your expectations are going into this community. It is strictly memory care and if there is any kind of personal care that is needed really search for all of your options. The room is beautiful and we are pleased with the community and the way that it looks. The rooms are nice and larger and not box like all of the other communities.

Woodland Creek was an extremely nice facility from what we saw on our tour. I would definitely tell others to check this place out
With my limited experience, I would absolutely recommend it. We received very high quality care during our short stay here. They handled everything really well, and they helped us through a really difficult time. The pandemic made things so difficult, and I was happy we found such a good place for our loved one during all the craziness. Some places were not even accepting new residents during that time. It was my understanding that Woodland Creek was a brand new facility, and my loved one was one of the first residents there. They were not fully occupied yet , so I think the fact that there were not as many residents there helped her. She had a semi-private room without a roommate yet. At the time, there were just very few residents there. Since it was new, it was very clean. Most of our interaction with the staff was over the phone. They were very reliable over the phone. I did get to meet the administration. They were very good and very helpful. I wasn't able to have much interaction with the day-to-day caregivers due to the pandemic, and my loved one was not in the state of mind to give feedback. For activities, they had a portal where you could log in to see what was going on. My loved one didn't participate a lot, but they really made an effort to keep the residents involved. The cost was high, but it's for your cherished loved one, and it was a great facility. I felt my loved one was very well cared for. I believe there was good value there because it was good quality care.

We have been so pleased with the particularly the communication that they have kept with us, and the care they show their residents. It is very easy to get a hold of the nurses to check on my loved one.

I was very pleased with this community. My father was one of the first residents to move into Woodland Creek. I felt very at ease with him living there during COVID and although our visits, at the time, were only through the window, I could see how much the staff cared for him and how content he was living there. They were all so accommodating and sincere. I could tell they took very good care of him and he adjusted so well to living there. He was on hospice and passed away while living there but I couldn't be more pleased with our experience with Woodland Creek.
