Nice setting. Clean & well maintained facility. Extremely caring staff at all levels. Many experienced, long-term staff who are happy to work at the facility. Extremely good communication. People actually care...not just lip service. Many went above what one would expect in many different scenarios. Housing and medical care for all levels of care is in this one facility so no need to keep relocating if health condition of resident changes...one can transfer to a different floor to get increased or decreased level of care up through long-term care or hospice. Nice residents and nice variety of activities geared toward the majority of the population. Many residents are those with mobility issues and w/5 floors, elevators are needed, but this was seldom an issue. Cost is a bit higher than other facilities with many services ala carte vs all inclusive, but it is manageable. Since cost of assisted living is high everywhere, I felt like the facility, staff and medical care warrants the slightly higher costs. I chose this facility as a rehab facility after my mom's hospital stay and a Medicare rep stated it was one of the higher rated rehab facilities on the Medicare list. After my mom's rehab, she moved to an assisted living floor for a short time and then, when my mom's health declined, she moved to long-term care until her passing. It was a very traumatic journey as my mom's health fluctuated, but the staff was there to support both my mom and me along the entire journey and worked with me on several issues after my mom's passing. This facility gave me peace of mind knowing my mom would be cared for and I would have the support I needed no matter what happened. With your help, I researched and visited several facilities so my mom might move closer to me, but UMC was always in the running due to the availability of medical care there. It is a fine, positive community that I highly recommend to those looking for care for their loved one. Hope this info is helpful.... Read more

The staff was not very nice.. My mom has difficulty breathing. She had Alzheimer's And wasn't able to care for herself. They left her sitting up in a chair for a very long time. She was slouched over which can cut off your breathing. I asked a nurse if she could lay her on the bed instead. She complainedThe head of the floor and they gave me a hard time and treated me as if I had committed a crime. They threatened me and told me thatI won't be able to come there if I don't watch out. All I did was ask the nurse if she could put her in the bed.

After years of caring for my mother in and out of AL, hospitals, rehab, my mother now needs LTC. Be very careful when you research facilities on the CMS website. 5 stars means nothing, but it is a start. Since I already had experience, my tour of this facility was looking into the real things that matter. I realize my need was over the holidays, but it took me 10 days to reach anyone who could provide information and schedule an appt. The front desk did not have my name and appt. When the person came to greet me, she told me I could only peek in the rooms, no one from dietary was available and had no information about the ratio of nurses to patients, aides to patients. I am vetting them on how and often rooms are cleaned, is food processed or fresh, and I like to engage actual patients to get their opinion on their care. What I was able to see were large rooms that gave a level of privacy. I want to see the bathrooms to vet the level of cleanliness. Transparancy!
They state they can care for dementia patients and they cannot, The staff is not properly trained, Dementia patient have better care in nursing homes where they are trained properly or home with 24 hr care.

This community was nice it was jut not the right fit for my loved ones needs. there was another community that just instantly clicked that we just knew was right for my loved one. the tour was great and they gave me all of the information that I needed. This was a really nice community but we were afraid it would be to big for my loved one and she would not get the needed attention.
i toured this community and we did not like the layout. there were a lot of different floors and levels, it all felt too complicated. this community felt more like a facility; it was very gloomy and dull. it didn't have that lively vibe, it did not feel like home.
We chose United Methodist Communities because we liked that it was not just one room, she has a kitchenette and bedroom which makes it feel like a little apartment. They also had a step program in terms of if you go in as assisted living you are able to transition to memory care if needed. We really like the location is it in a cute town. The staff are so friendly and really love their residents. I would recommend to others looking.

The community has several floors and is able to handle independent living, assisted living, rehab, and memory care. The community always has stuff going on. The community is very nice and friendly. They have bus trips and depending on the activity depends on how the residents can participate in these activities. Some of the bus trips cost and others don't. They sometimes have free movie tickets. They do have different religious services available to the residents.

Before we chose United Methodist, we toured several other communities. This one overall was very clean and they all seemed organized and friendly. At all levels, everyone at the community was very caring. There was a friendliness to the place that we liked and the staff genuinely seemed to care about my mother. The staff was always prompt and did what they were supposed to do. The meals were always good as well. We did have a couple of issues with the staff getting my mother her medication on time. It did seem like there were a lot of activities available and they clearly made an effort. We did think that the community was a good value even with the high price in consideration. The only negative was that we thought their business office was sub-par. We thought the billing was very weird and after my mother passed away, it was difficult to figure out final payments.

My former fencing coach lives at CM. I have visited twice and have found the facility to be friendly, clean, modern, lots to do.. Gym, Chapel, Pool table, barbeque, parties, lots of people gathering around and talking. Great area.. Beautiful parks close by - Cooper River, Close to Philly and lots of highways - 70, 130.. Shopping Centers, Restaurants. Great that they have all different levels of care from Independent Living, to Memory care. I can compare with a few others I have seen in the past few years and would put this one at the top.

The food is very good and the community is very clean. The staff have made us feel comfortable with mom living here. The administration has been very helpful and informative. This is a vibrant community and they have a lot of volunteers coming in. They offer some daily activities and the staff have been encouraging mom to participate in some. I would recommend this community.

I have had a relative at Collingswood Manor for 2 years. It has been a total nightmare. I have to nag the staff constantly to get them to provide even the most basic care. The management in particular is uncaring and rude. Their main practice of healthcare consists of keeping the residents doped up on strong opiate medications. I feel sorry for residents that do not have relatives to act as advocates for them at this unsatisfactory and uncaring facility. If you love your elder relative, you would never, ever house them at Collingswood Manor.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
