My mom chose The Waterford at Ironbridge because of the location and the value for the money compared to some other places that we looked into. She was in one of the bigger apartments and it was good size for her. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend.
From what we saw the community seemed clean, however our loved one had a stroke last year and the community did not call 911 or an ambulance because he was living in independent living and it was not there place to call for help.
Personnel are always friendly and providing information timely. Food is excellent with many menu options that are great. Would recommend this facility to my family and friends.
It is noted that Waterford management took full action to combat the covid problem. They started with mandatory meetings to go over rules and regulations and many other measures is providing safety for all. We feel that the staff is very friendly and cooperative. They follow up in an efficient manner with any problems! Activities are provided on a daily basis. There are a variety of activities suited for all examples are Bingo, exercise, cards WII bowling, and many other activities.
We are so blessed at this location. Our director seems to have every skill needed to be successful. She is so caring of her residents. It is very evident. Her team of helpers work together so very well. We had two brushes with covid-19. The first was handled very well, in the middle of the other but expecting a good outcome.
I've lived here three times. First st. John's after seizure, 5 weeks St John's and Rehab. I lost 62 pounds. Our son moved my wife and I to Louisville, KY to be near him after my spouse passed away, I moved back to the Waterford. The beginning it did not have dining service. The Waterford’s staff by far surpass all others.
I moved into this community 12 years ago when I was 79 years old and at 91 I have no thoughts about moving. My daughters and I toured several other communities and we all liked this one the best.
Been here 2 years 2 months couldn't want any better group of people who provide for all and any needs I might have to enjoy my retiring years. It's been a pleasure living here. They try their best to keep us informed I feel safe during this pandemic and really that way even before it's struck.
I have lived here over four years and happy to make five stars.
The Waterford is a loveyly place to live. The staff is warm and welcoming. They know everyone's name and that makes me feel special. There's always something to do. My apartment is perfect, but more important the residents are warm and friendly and help to make the Waterford home.
Beginning with covid-19 the office stuff is handling it great. At this time the atmosphere among the resident is understandable because of the restrictions to rooms but they are willing to abide by the ruling. I do suggest more in-depth with new residents moving in. Staff should pay more attention to dress code.
We, my husband and I, enjoy living at the Waterford. It is a beautiful landscaped setting with places to walk outside. Staff are enthusiastic and energetic and helpful when needed. There are many planned activities and well stocked library for reading. The pandemic has been a challenge, but we have had communal dining and been able to get in halls. We highly recommend this place for older individuals needing some help to remain independent. Staff keep our families informed about activities via email.
The staff and kitchen crew are great. They all know you by your first name. All are very courteous and helpful. There are activities for everyone. The food choices are great.
I have lived at Waterford at Ironbridge for 7 months. I found it to be the right place for me at this time. My husband died after 60 years of married life and I think it's the best place for me now. I enjoy playing the piano and my uki. They always open program ideas. This makes me feel like I'm a part of my new home. I also feel safe here.
I've lived here for only 4 years. There have been many changes over this time. Many staff changes, some understandable — some sad ones. I have been very pleased with the attention to details and keeping us safe during this covid-19 pandemic even though I don't enjoy being quarantined — it is necessary. The steps taken to keep us entertained/occupied have been great. Kudos to the staff. It hasn't been easy for them either!
The Waterford is a very friendly place, with both staff and residents in a very comfortable atmosphere. Living here during the entire period of the COVID situation, we feel both safe and secure. There are a wide variety of activities, innovative, and interesting for all. Best in the area!!
The Waterford at Ironbridge is the best place to be. I looked at other places, none are as good. All the help cares and loves you. The renters called their rooms home. The food is good. The lighting is bright and cheerful. The virus has been kept away. The help is working very hard to keep everything wiped down. Management is the best you can find. God bless them all!!!
In 2017, our Dad had an accident that meant that he could no longer live independently. Several years earlier we took him on a tour of the various retirement communities in Springfield, so we went into this crisis not entirely unprepared. Luckily, The Waterford (our preferred solution) had an apartment available. Since we both live far from Dad, while he was undergoing rehabilitation, The Waterford allowed us to stay in his new apartment while we got it ready for him, downsized his belongings, sold his house, etc. From personal experience, we can verify that the food, while not fancy, is good. Once we got him settled and returned to our homes, the staff at The Waterford did everything they could to make his transition to his new home as easy as possible. He likes the staff there and they do take care of the residents, having not hesitated to call 9-1-1 on a couple of occasions when he needed more help than they could provide. Highly recommended!
Our family has been very satisfied overall with The Waterford, which has been home to my parents for the past 3 years. We have been pleased with how they handled the COVID-19 situation. The sanitation that takes place each day around the facility has clearly made a difference. The precautions and safety measures taken all meet or exceed local guidelines. The staff at The Waterford is very caring and compassionate. They absolutely make you feel (and my parents feel) like you are part of their family. We know we made the right decision for my parents. They are very happy and involved in a variety of activities. We can't thank [name removed] and the staff at The Waterford enough for all they do for the residents and their families. They have truly made this experience special. Thanks for all the support!
