About the community

In 2018, Franciscan Ministries, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, acquired a 60-acre senior living campus that was originally built and nurtured by 14 area Mennonite churches. Renamed The Village at Mercy Creek, it is now part of the Franciscan Communities, which has been providing comfortable housing options for over 125 years.

We take a person-centered approach to assisted living. The Village at Mercy Creek residents enjoy independence, privacy, and comfort in spacious accommodations complete with kitchenettes, individual climate control, and secured building access. Our care partners compassionately assist residents so every day is fulfilling and inspires joy. A service plan is customized to include "verbal reminders", "standby assistance" or "hands-on assistance" for bathing, dressing, grooming, meals and activities. Our comprehensive range of supportive services is tailored to meet the individual requirements of each resident. This personalization contributes to their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

My daughter had worked with A Place for Mom when we first started the search for my parents but this gorgeous community was not referred to us! I am so happy we came across this through a google search and I couldn't have been more happy with how the team treated us, even through the Covid-19 pandemic. We were able to tour virtually and meet their kind and compassionate team. My mom was even able to meet with a few residents via the computer and the laughter they had was very encouraging. The menu looks amazing, too! It has been hard and quite honestly, a little scary trying to get my parents to make a change but I am so thankful for the kindness, professionalism and expertise the team at the Village of Mercy Creek has. If you are just starting a search or almost to a decision, I'd highly recommend you take the time to look at this diamond in the rough.
