Response from The Summit of Fort Myers
November 9, 2023Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience about The Summit of Fort Myers. We strive to provide an exceptional senior living experience that includes all-inclusive, restaurant quality dining, and a full spectrum of amenities and services catered to the individual. Our associates work hard to ensure that our residents experience senior living at its finest where it's not just like home, it is home. Sincerely, The Summit of Fort Myers Team
Air conditioning went out 3 times. One of 3 elevators for whole complex has never been working. Common areas could be vacuumed more regularly. Meals need improving. Many times what is listed to be served is not what is plated. Many dishes are very spicy without stating as such. I have stopped eating all the meals in the restaurant. Service is slow and one rarely receives replenishment of beverages. My iced tea glass was served with lipstick on the glass (not mine). The pool was contaminated and closed for several weeks.

It's been very positive. The staff have been very friendly and always helpful. Have responded in reasonable time t o our maintenance requests. The meals fairly good. Some better than others but I understand that happens. Personally I need to eat gluten free but I'm doing fine. Staff is quick and willing to check any food item I question. We feel that our choice of The Summit of Fort Myers has been a good one.

It is a great place. The staff is very good and always ready to help. I really am glad, that I made this decision. The residents seem to be very happy. They have line dancing, card games, chair yoga, shopping tours, water aerobics, and cocktail hour on Fridays. They also offer church services, and Bible Study. The value for the money is right on target. The food is very well balanced. I would recommend to others looking for independent living.

After visiting [name removed] and then walking into The Summit of Ft. Myers there was no questions where I would call home but The Summit. The feeling of warmth and caring from residents was overwhelming. This is my home and where I will be until God takes me

Our family had an in person tour and we thought The Summit was wonderful. I was impressed as soon as I walked into the door, there was a welcome [name removed] sign at the front desk. I would have put my dad in Summit but they had no one bedrooms available. They did offer a two bedroom at a discount but I still could see it. The Summit to me is a resort style living and Brookdale is more homey feeling. If I were moving now I would pick the Summit for me. I like the resort feeling.
Beautiful Community! [name removed] was wonderfully helpful. Thank you!
We toured with The Summit of Fort Meyers and it was an absolutely gorgeous facility. The food was AMAZING and they work with vegetarians which was a must for us. The facility was more formal and my mom is a more casual person which was why she decided against this facility.
The facility has bright, open spaces and is exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It's a little on the pricey side, but the resident rooms are oversized, which is nice. And his laundry facility is inside his residence, which is great.

This community was too independent and not enough care in house for my loved one.
I have lived here almost 4 years. I've enjoyed the friendships of the residents. The many activities of fitness classes and meeting friends, also weekly entertainment and transportation services.

A Place for Mom has scored The Summit of Fort Myers 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
