I do not recommend moving during a pandemic, but moving to a place as well-run, friendly and helpful as The Arboretum Village was an excellent decision for me. I suggest starting a search as early as possible to see what a variety of places offer to find what you are comfortable with, even if, like me, you begin 3-5 years before you actually plan to make any move. I wanted to leave the limitations and uncertainties of home ownership and repair. As a single person I wanted a setting that would help me maintain independence and active life as long as possible to allow me to participate within the program and outside so I could include a variety of age group interactions. I wanted to know transitions would be easily available if my health needs changed. I wanted to be near my relatives in Omaha in an area of town convenient to the many activities,, especially a YMCA or good indoor pool for lane work. This is a great location. I wanted underground parking if possible and this has a well-designed garage area. I like the structure of Immanuel Communities and am impressed so much with residents and staff here. Because of the pandemic precautions I have not been able to participate in the usual activities and exercise programs as they have been placed on hold. However, the staff has provided equipment and alternatives to help us continue exercise and activity. I am looking forward to when the regular program fully resumes but the staff makes this restricted situation both pleasant and reassuring. I choose to take a smaller unit than the one i thought I wanted which was a most popular one and had not come available. I find it is a lovely size and layout for me. I do appreciate not being pressured to take a larger unit than I felt comfortable with financially, too. I felt I was considered as a person rather than from a position of trying to "sell up." In all areas I have found the staff here to truly keep the residents well being at the forefront. That is important to me: mutual kindness and respect are important values to me, especially when it permeates my everyday life.... Read more

It is difficult to rate activities since I arrived just as we went on new rules to self-quarantine for the coronavirus pandemic. I will be happy to write amore complete review after this ends. I just want to say I am extremely impressed with the staff and how helpful and friendly they are. Also, despite the social distancing in force, the residents have been extremely welcoming. And they seem to really like living here.

[Name removed] had excellent materials. We saw a lovely model and then 1 available 2 BR. Given info on another floor plan. Was shown common areas. Had a lovely chef-prepared lunch with our guide even though only a dinner meal is available to residents at an extra fee. Only saw a few residents, was not introduced to any, and the commons area was deserted except for a small group gathered for coffee in the Country Store. We were not even introduced to that small group. The lack of any meaningful interaction with residents still puzzles me, especially since the name of the facility now includes "an Immanuel Community". I had no feeling of community!

I toured this community with my mother and found the grounds to be very nice. This is definitely a place I could see my mother at. Unfortunately, due to logistics we could not directly move in and had to move into our second choice. However, we are on the waiting list and are excited to move in eventually. Thank you for the lovely tour!

Our experience with The Arboretum has been a very good one, so far! It's been a little difficult for our loved one getting settled in, but in terms of the facility and what they provide we're very satisfied. It's a clean, well kept place, and the staff all seem very friendly and professional. Our loved one has also said she enjoys the events and entertainment the facility brings in.

This place is very nice, but right now I'm looking closer to my sister.

I’m really impressed with how they’ve treated my mom. The only comment I have is that my mom needs some help putting up some pictures in her room. They may be a little understaffed. The parking is good. I’m just really impressed with how they handled everything. They invited her to eat with them and made her feel really welcome.
