","reviewContent":"We really appreciated the care Dad received during his time at TerraBella. The environment is welcoming and well kept with a nice little outdoor area and a good amount of indoor space for wandering around. My sister and I lived several hours away, so we were only able to visit a couple of times per month. We were always really pleased with how well they knew Dad and cared for him, though he was often a very prickly resident and not always easy to manage. Food and activities didn’t always meet his needs, so that would be my only complaint specific to him. He only had the use of one of his arms, and meals were often difficult for him to navigate with one hand. Adaptive silverware and plates would have really helped him (which we learned after moving him to a nursing home.) Activities are tricky when someone isn’t interested or even refuses to participate, but we wished that there could have been more creative ways to help him continue to feel useful and engaged. As with many who have dementia, Dad’s needs shifted during his time at TB, and we appreciated the open communication we were able to have with the care staff as well as the admins. We knew he was safe there and well cared for, which gave us great piece of mind. After he moved into a nursing home, two members of the care staff kept in touch with us to check on him and even came to his funeral.
