My loved one oves the food, and says it is delicious. They have different activities and encourgae residents to participate. The main reason why we picked this community, is because it's all on one level, so it's a single story. The grounds is very beautiful, they have flowers throughout the facility, and they also have a patio with an umbrealla, and chair/tables. The residents can get fresh air. What makes it unique is, they have several cottages throughout the property, which has it's own dining room, and living room. They have a nice large bathroon, fridge, closets, and it's nicely spaced. Response from Sunrise of Canyon Crest
October 3, 2022Hi Customer, It is delightful to hear that you have been satisfied with the personalized support provided to your loved one by Sunrise of Canyon Crest. Our team members share a common goal of enriching every resident’s life by carefully listening to their needs and always delivering the very best. Thank you! – The Sunrise Team
The tour was great, the staff went above and beyond to show us around the whole facility and answer all of our questions and were very nice. I liked everything that I saw and what they offered. The memory care portion of the facility is smaller with less residents.

This was the best option out of all the communities I toured, there was practically no competition. My mom was introverted, but the staff did their best with engaging her in activities. She really enjoyed the food and grew to love it here. The value for the cost was well worth the care your loved one is provided with in return. The residents were are lively and occupied; they weren't just sat in front of a TV all day. The floor plan was very spacious and open. The staff is incredible and took great care of my mom; I would definitely recommend this community to others who are looking.

I was pleased with this community. This community just did not have the services that my loved one needed at the time to get the best care. Great tour.
We're happy with Sunrise. It's a clean facility. I think they're properly staffed, and the people there mean well. There are a lot of younger ladies working there as care assistants, and sometimes they rush a little perhaps. Their personalities come out in the way they do their job. Some get in and get it done, while some take a little more time and interact with my mom more gently. But I believe that variation in bedside manner would happen anywhere you go. It has been an adjustment for my mom, and it has taken some back and forth of them getting to know her and her needs, and her getting to know them. My mom also has dementia, so that's thrown some wrenches into her care. But everything has turned out well overall. My mom raves about how good the food is, which is a big plus. And she likes their coffee, which is important. She's chosen not to participate in activities or get involved with people there, although the staff does try to encourage her. It's a bit pricey for me, and the thing that struck me the most about their billing is they have this very sophisticated algorithm where every little thing that happens gets recorded, and the charges for those things are reflected each month. So the bill changes each month. My mom was combative with them early on when they were trying to do things for her. She was very anxious and uncooperative about the Hoyer lift, and because of that, they made sure she had two people to help instead of one, which costs more. But they've found ways to work around needing two people. We've talked about moving her to the memory unit, which they tell me is better suited to care for her needs. But her neurologist prescribed an anti-anxiety medication that seems to have mellowed Mom out and seems to be a good thing. She's not feeling as anxious about every little thing. I appreciated how willing Sunrise was to work with us to come up with different solutions rather than just push Mom up to that higher level of care. They have been really good at working with our primary doctor and specialists to handle her medication management through Kaiser Permanente. I feel very fortunate and blessed that we are able to cover the cost, which I know a lot of people cannot do.

We chose Sunrise of Canyon Crest because we liked the idea of having the cottages and having a dining hall in each cottage. Right before my dad passed, each one of the staff came in and gave us hugs and were just amazing, I cannot say enough good about them. I would highly recommend the facility to others looking.

It is a smaller facility so there was a more cozy feel to it. They invited one of the other residents to sit down and speak with me who was in a similar position so that gave me a good perspective on what my dad could anticipate.
We chose Sunrise at Canyon Crest because my mom required a higher level of care and they were able to provide that. The room sizes are average compared to what we looked at, for a single person they are more than adequate. They have been awesome with communication with everything going on, they send out newsletters and emails to keep families updates. If I ever call up there they are quick to answer. I think they are a little understaffed at times. Staff from top to bottom are the friendliest people I have encountered and I appreciate them. I can sleep at night knowing that my parents are well taken care of.

All the staff are very upbeat and caring. Everyone we encountered were absolutely wonderful. The care my loved one received was amazing. They were able to assist her in doing things that my loved one hadn't done in years. They were very helpful throughout the stay of my loved one.

If you are older and healthy and need a community to live in where there's caring companionship and lots to do on site, then it is a lovely place to be and then it's great for you. But if you are sicker and less independent then the level of training of caregivers and the ratio of the caregivers, especially at night, then it can be challenging. To be fair, it was challenging for the both the staff and residents. The caregivers are younger and very nice and very caring, but their time is limited and they are not nurses.

I am just so pleased with Sunrise. I feel the my mom is the getting the personal attention that shes need. The care is individualized and they keep in touch with me with any concerns them have. The caregivers are great. The communication is great. They personally interact with me on behalf my mom because she is unable to verbalize now. I have so much peace of mind with her being there and I am so grateful for Sunrise. She is in memory care and they really give her the one on one attention that really needs . It is a great place.

This is a wonderful facility. First of all it's small. Three cottages with about 35 residents per cottage. Each cottage is fully self contained with dining room, beauty shop, wellness office, and living room. The resident rooms are spacious and well appointed. My mom is in a studio and it's plenty big enough for a queen size bed, large chest of drawers, recliner, large TV stand and TV. Plenty of storage in the closet and bathroom as well. The only thing the rooms lack are bathtubs, but there is a walk in jacuzzi tub that residents can use. The grounds are nicely planted with plenty of walking paths. There are daily activities, like walking groups, movies, gardening, socials, trips off campus, board games. A resident can be as active or inactive as they choose. The staff at Sunrise are all well tenured. They quickly learned who my mom was, always call her by name, even when she is outside of her room. The care staff double as dining room staff. Within just a couple of meals, they learned what my mom liked, how she wanted it served and when. Even though I am close enough to visit regularly, both the care manager and mom's specific wellness nurse, call me monthly to report on her health and general well being. They are always available for me to ask questions in between those calls as well. I would chose Sunrise again for my mom. It's really a nice facility.

This is a lively community. It's small, so Mom gets lots of attention and doesn't fall through the cracks. The care team is excellent and all of the staff are friendly and are taking the time to get to k bbn ow my Mom. She's not very social so it's great that the staff go out of their way to engage her and make her feel special.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my loved one. While on the tour you could tell they were reaching out to a specific clientele who are used to a specific type of lifestyle. It’s a very nice place and the lobby was just gorgeous. Both the location and the landscape were beautiful. You get what you pay for with this community. I decided not to move my loved one here because it was too expensive.

My wife is currently at this community for a short respite stay and I have no complaints of how things are going. The location is perfect for me and I think the staff are doing a wonderful job with her care. I am hoping she will be able to come home soon with all of the improvements she has been making. They have a great meal selection and she is enjoying the dining experience with the other residents. Overall this experience has been exactly what we have been hoping for.
