Response from Sunrise of Burlington MA
June 5, 2023Hi Rachel, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience. We are pleased to hear that our team made you and your loved ones experience pleasant. Please feel free to reach out to us at information@sunriseseniorliving.com or the community directly, in case you have any additional questions regarding Sunrise!
Cleanliness didn't seem to be at the top of their list. And they have a large, sweeping staircase that I can’t believe they don't have restricted in some fashion, at least at night. I can’t believe people haven't wandered and had an incident down it.

May 16, 2022Hi Karen, Each and every guest who enters a Sunrise community is important to us. It is wonderful to know that you had such a positive experience when touring Sunrise of Burlington MA. We would be pleased to answer any remaining questions you may have. If you have additional questions, you are welcome to contact info@sunriseseniorliving.com. Thank you! – The Sunrise Team
This tour was good and the community was fine they just could not accommodate to what we were looking for.
Our family had an in person tour and we really liked Sunrise, it was a very good tour and it made our decision between another facility very difficult.
My grandfather was a stoic Army veteran who drove tanks in Korea who always told me he wanted nothing to do with nursing homes/assisted livings when he was older. This all changed when he was living with the Sunrise Crew in Burlington, he had nothing but positive interactions and good things to say everyday about all of the residents and employees who work here. Many times when I would offer to take him out to lunch, he would refuse because he wanted to us eat with everyone in the main area so I could meet his friends (staff, residents, etc). For myself and my family, we want to thank you again and are forever grateful! Highly recommend this facility!

I felt comfortable at Sunrise of Burlington the first time I visited, as I was trying to find the right place for my dad. I was so happy with my decision as the care he received was wonderful. Dad was busy with activities, even when he did not think he wanted to be! The staff is caring and engaging, with patients and their families.

My name is [name removed], I have an Aunt that I was interested in Sunrise so we went and visited. My Aunt is 95 and was very nervous going there. From the minute she got out of the car she Loved the outside and that she would be able to sit outside. When we went in she was just as excited, everyone was so gracious to her it was Wonderful. They were so great answered all my questions and hers. I was impressed they were more concerned with what she thought. Overall the Staff and Sunrise is a great place. [name removed]

The Burlington, MA location is lovely and inviting. It is three floors with two elevators and a stairway. There are several cozy nooks to sit and visit with friends and family. We had a studio which we used as a two bedroom and no den because of our situation and it was roomy enough to be comfortable. We were "respite" so the cost per month was quite high but they did provide furniture and accessories. There is no gym area here so any OT/PT was done is in your room or sometimes walking in the hallways We found dining challenging other than breakfast which was the best meal of the day with many choices and no restrictions. The other two meals we did not find well prepared and often minimal in the amounts served and we often subsidized from our room fridge. When hearing others asking for more were told that was the amount allotted. I believe some of these restrictions were more server related than management related and due to language issues. The preparation however was definitely a kitchen issue and needed a change. If you have food issues, make sure you clarify it up from and know what they will and/or not do for you. They provided activities daily and were well attended. My recommendation on personal services is to request a detailed listing of cost per day and what each of the price ranges cover in detail. We felt the vagueness around this issue resulted in being overcharged. It would be interesting to visit another Sunrise and see if the same issues existed there. Compared to a FL ALF we were in, Sunrise did not measure up.

I toured this facility and my experience was excellent. The staff took the time to answer my questions and they asked questions of me that really made me feel like they wanted to know my situation with my mother. There is low staff turnover and it is clean. They have a resident cat on the memory care floor which was a big hit with me. I would highly recommend anyone looking for assisted living or memory care to have Sunrise Burlington on their list.

I toured this facility looking for a place for my mother. I found the staff to be impressive, caring and very understanding of memory care needs. Also, staff turnover seems very low. They also have a resident cat on the memory care floor which was a big hit with me. While the facility isn't brand new, the building seems well cared for and very clean. I think that anyone looking for assisted living and or memory should put Sunrise Burlington on their list.

I fell in love with this place! Still working on convincing my mother a move is best but this is where she will go. Beautiful community with a staff and residents that look very happy and loved. She can even bring her cat!

I cannot recommend Sunrise enough! The facilities, activities, food and especially the staff are excellent. My mother moved there on a permanent basis this spring after experiencing it for a short respite stay last year. What astounded us was that when we walked in unannounced after a year, everyone greeted my mother by name and with a hug. My mother was not thrilled at the idea of moving to assisted living and went with great reservations, but the transition has gone remarkably well. It's hard to be unhappy in a place with warm, helpful staff, lots to do (if you choose to partake), and where all your concerns are cared for. We noticed that my mother has a much brighter disposition since she's been at Sunrise. And it's a load off all of our minds to know that she is safe, well cared for and content.

My mom visited Sunrise in Burlington MA about a year ago. She needed the kind of services they provide even then but she steadfastly refused to leave her home. It was a poor decision on her part as over the next 12 months she had numerous falls and ER visits by ambulance. It was a tough time for my brother and I as we worried about her daily wondering what would happen next. During that time I was comforted by Sunrise as they maintained communication with me offering several approaches of reengaging with my Mom in regard to a move that she really needed to make. Recently my mom had declined to a point where she could not raise herself from her couch to cook or clean herself or use the toilet or even unlock the door for visiting services to come in. The result was another ER visit where she was deemed as lacking capacity to care for herself and I had no idea what to do. I had all of this correspondence with Sunrise in my email folders…. I called them. I must have sounded desperate (I was) and they helped me immediately. I was fortunate there was an open room and their team went to work. They assessed my mom and had a service plan in 48 hours. Less than four days after my mom was removed by emergency teams from her home where she was unfed and unclean she was in a beautifully furnished room with clean clothes and sheets and eating a nice meal. A few days after that she was able to arrange for a hair appointment which she hasn’t done in over a year. After her hair was done my mom was happier than she had been in years. The transformation from her unsafe and unsanitary situation where I was worried every minute to her safe and clean room where she is helped to dress and wash and get 3 plus meals a day is no less than a miracle. Thank you Sunrise

I highly recommend this facility. My father loved this place. It gave him his freedom and independence he was seeking. He became very social and content. My siblings and I could rest easy knowing he was happy and safe. The staff was and is AWESOME. The place is very happy energetic alive. Always something to do with the residents. Always including the families. They staff knows everyones names from the residents to the families. The staff is very attentive. My dad did not require a lot of supportive care but when he became ill suddenly the staff came to visit, care for him, sit with him as well as us and cried with us when he passed. My family is grateful for his time at Sunrise and highly recommend this facility.

My father was very happy here. The staff was and is AWESOME. Very vibrant live community. Families always involved. The lobby is always busy with residents either playing word games or watching a movie / sports or listening to entertainment. That is a good sign that your family is not sitting in their apartment alone. The staff knows everyones names. I always felt good knowing he was safe living in this assisted living, he had his independence he was seeking. When he suddenly became ill - the staff came to visit - they sat with us , cried with us and stayed to the end. I wish my mother was alive to experience the care he received I know they would have given her the same care. They still take care of his turtle to this day. I would recommend this facility. My sisters and I actually miss visiting the facility. One of our siblings would go everyday to visit not out of concern but because it was fun and he was having a great time.

I loved this community. I looked at a few and although all were pretty this one felt more warm and friendly. My mom isn't a stuffy person and likes things clean and neat but also welcoming. Unfortunately my mother is refusing to move anywhere right now but I'm glad I got to see what is out there. One thing I noticed that I didn't see at other places was that the staff seemed to like being there and were calling people by their names and seeming to have fun. I could tell the people living there felt comfortable talking and interacting with the staff. No high pressure and very easy decision - once my mother agrees!

I toured Sunrise of Burlington about a month ago. They showed me around the building and answered all of my questions patiently & thoughtfully (and I had a lot!). I toured a number of places and although Sunrise isn't the newest, I feel like they cared the most. You can tell that everyone who works there takes pride in what they do in the gentle way they have with the residents and the respectful manner in which they treat one another. I would hands down give them 5 stars in all categories!
