Samaritan village is the best!
My mother was in Samaritan village assisted care unit, country manor, for about 19 months. The caregivers are excellent. They are all wonderful and compassionate people. The med check people are also outstanding, caring and kind.
The dining room is really top notch. The food is just excellent. I ate with her in the dining room several times a week and it was always a very pleasant experience. Every meal I had was great! My mother got her glass of wine every night that she especially enjoyed.
The activities are also excellent. She loved playing bingo and pokeno. She also did a variety of crafts and other games.
I can’t say enough about the care at Samaritan village. I highly recommend it.

Resident memory care that has created a safe an happy home for our aunt.
When we needed to place our aunt in resident memory care we compared several options. We chose Samaritan Village because of the beautiful facility and friendly, caring personnel. The fact that each resident has a private studio apartment with a full bathroom was important. Our aunt has been in residence since August 2019 and is very happy there. She is treated with kindness and respect by the personnel.

Great place for Seniors to live
This place is like a land locked cruise ship. Fantastic food, very nice staff, regular excursions and non stop fun and games. So many friendly residents a senior never has to feel alone.

Dining area
The food and portions that past 6 months has taken a dive. Very disappointed in the serving sizes and the meal choices. Poor presentation as well. Service is good but have had several mix ups in my order and my meal is as much as an Applebee’s.
I think some attention needs to be put in this area.
The ribs have always been excellent and they do a very good job with all of the shrimp entrees.
We had a salmon patty dish recently that the patty was not even as big as a silver dollar! Many were asking for more as they were hungry. So with that dish it was not the quality but quantity.
I hope that you look into this area as many residents have been discussing it.

Think twice
My parents lived at Samaritan Village and have since passed away. They hire anyone off the street with no knowledge of aseptic technique. My dad ended up in the hospital with sepsis and almost died because on their carelessness. They ran out of his medications on more then one occasion. The management was the worse and the help even worse. I had one battle after another with them and I am glad it is over. Think twice before going to this place. If you have health issues and need a lot of care I would stear clear.

Perfect Retirement Community... But
Overall I love the staff and care at I! Everyone has been very caring and a true sense of compassion. Their dining hall/restaurant has a great menu and fantastic salad bar. They even have waiters/waitresses!
The Mall, where everything is located,ie Chapel, Movie Theatre, Salon, Library, etc is very clean. You're always greeted by the front desk lobby with smiles.
However - Country Manor / assisted care / memory care is inadequately staffed or equipped to handle advanced dementia/Alzheimers residents. WereWhaving to place my Dad at another facility due to this fact. It's unfortunate because my folks are looking to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary in June and I know this will take it's emotional toll on my mother. This is one of the reasons we had chosen SV for my folks... So that in either of their last walks in life they wouldn't be separated by distance. This is the only drawback I see at SV. Otherwise, they're a fantastic retirement community.

While our Assisted Living options can provide some Alzheimer's/Dementia support, we are limited by how advanced these services can become as we are not a Memory Care Facility. We are sad to see your father have to relocate elsewhere, and were honored to have him as a part of our community.

Top Notch Senior Village
Our tour with Brooke was excellent. She was very patient with us, and took care of my husband in the wheelchair. We were impressed with the amenities and enjoyed meeting the people selling their crafts. We bought one of the watercolor paintings.
Overall, the setting is lovely, very clean and very nice. We even managed to meet some friends we had here in Pine Mountain Lake. Thank you for the nice tour.. We have a lot to consider.

Our First Three Months at Samaritan Village
We have been a resident for three months and our experience has been greater than we expected! Samaritan Village is a community of residents and staff members.
It is so easy to sit down over a meal and get to know more about each other, ask a question, get an "how to" answer or simply build new relationships. Within a few weeks we have met and gotten to know new friends and have socialized, travelled with, and helped each other.
Staff and residents respect each other and do everything they can to make you feel welcomed and comfortable in our new home!

Too Spread Out
It is way too spread out. It just felt more like a big apartment complex with a common building than a senior care community. My mom would have gotten worn out just walking from her apartment to the dining hall. It was not very well planned.
