Our family had an in person tour and the tour was great but at the time they were going through some construction with remodeling and we just felt that our loved one and her current state would find that to be disruptive
Though the assisted living seemed fine, it was not the best place for memory care and Alzheimer's. There was not enough staff, lack of activities, and their care for incontinence was not good. There were difficulties getting information from the director and the promised medical staff on site every week almost never occurred. Communication was lacking, but in regards to my concerns my loved ones care team were responsive. In the end it was difficult to get full information for her transfer, but we did get it. It could have been better, but we weren't there long-term. The lack of staff was the biggest problem. Her care team were wonderful, sweet, and caring. I never worried about her safety in that way, but I don't think it's as specialized towards Alzheimer's and it needs a greater level of care. I cant speak highly enough about the people and the techs in her unit. They were absolutely wonderful people who did so much, but I don't think the system was setup as well as it could have been. I could see myself wanting to be there for assisted living, but memory care was the problem. It's also important to mention that at the time, she was extremely difficult. She had a lot of aggression problems and it may have been a lot more than what they could deal with, especially without a doctor coming in. For other people it may be a good fit, but for us it was difficult with her advanced Alzheimer's.

They switched ownership earlier this month so it is hard to tell what is going on. My loved one does not like the food and I do not feel he is receiving the best quality of care. There has been some medication issues and also they are short staffed at the moment and still trying to hire. Overall I feel like they need some improvement.
We chose Maybelle Carter because of the location as well as the value for the money. I also really like the director [name removed]. The apartment sizes are good, the bathroom is perfectly adequate. Sometimes the food is hit or miss from what I have heard. I like the layout of the facility, they have a nice backyard area with a garden and a covered porch where you can sit outside. They do have a lot to offer for the residents. I would recommend to others looking.

November 26, 2021Hi, we know that making a move to a senior community can be a difficult process and it makes us all so happy to hear of great experiences like this. Thank you for your feedback!
I would tell anybody to come and check it out I think anybody would be happy here. I love it. The staff are wonderful, and I love all of them. The food is really good. And I love my 2-bedroom apartment. It's spacious - I have more furniture than I thought I could fit in here, and it doesn't even look cramped.

November 11, 2021We are so happy to hear of your experience at Maybelle Carter Living! Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience that we try to create for all who walk in our doors!
It really is a good facility, we are happy with our choice. I think that they could do better with the activities and they could have more outings for the seniors to go on. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

September 16, 2021Hi, thank you for your feedback. We greatly appreciate it!
We looked at a lot of different communities, and due to the value, price, staff this stands out on their care. This seemed less of a business feel compared to the others. Anytime we spoke to the staff they seemed to remember everything and seemed to really care. This is still this way, that they remember everything and give personalized attention to the family and residents. We don't have to worry or feel that we have to check up on our loved one due to the care.
The management is great to work with, and the communication is very good. They are quick to respond. They are open to feedback also. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this community to others.

This facility has done a great job with their covid plan. The staff is wonderful and the activities director is my sister's favorite staff member. The community has a hairdresser and the value of the facility is good.
Not what we are looking for
I made a pop in your I was very impressed with the marketing team member. She provided additional information regarding additional services in addition to the housing need. I definitely enjoyed the tour very nice and clean and friendly professional atmosphere.
This facility did not work out for us. We have transferred to another facility where she is now happy.
I've been told by a resident that the office staff has not accepted rent checks for months. Also, transportation services are curtailed.
As of today June 14, 2018 a judge has issued a judgement against them for the amount due by Father's estate. If you're in the Nashville area and have a family member or friend looking for a senior living community or memory care please caution them to check into the strength and stability of the operating company... (FYI... they owe us thousands) and as of today May 17, 2018 I have received no response from any of the individuals we have contacted. (The facility, the operator, and the property owners). The property owners told us to continue to put pressure on the Executive Director of Maybelle to get us paid but they are directed by the operator to not respond to us. Additionally the Better Business Bureau has requested a response from them twice with also no response to date and they have told the BBB they will not respond. I am currently preparing documents for general sessions court. Grieving families should not be subjected to such rudeness and bullying. AND NOW MY ORIGINAL April 10, 2018 POSTED REVIEW........ This is strictly related to the Business Office and the Operator of the facility, New Horizons a subsidiary of Eastlake Capital which is located in Dallas, Texas with Andrew White as the President of Eastlake Capital. On February 4, 2018 our family member/resident of Maybelle Carter passed away. The same day we vacated the contracted space and gave formal notice to the facility so that as per our contract we would receive a prorated refund of the prepaid rent. According to the contract we were to receive the refund within two weeks after vacating the space. After three weeks had passed without any communication related to the refund I made an in-person visit to the facility and discovered the paperwork had not been submitted to New Horizons/Eastlake Capital for our refund. The paperwork had been completed that day and was being forwarded to their corporate office. One month after the paperwork was initially submitted the refund still had not arrived, so I called and then paid a visit on-site again. After a lengthy conversation with the on-site management team at Maybelle Carter I was informed that I wasn't the only one not being paid. No refunds were being paid and neither were the facility's vendors, however the employees of Maybelle were still being paid their wages. At this point we decided to attempt contact with Maybelle's corporate office (Eastlake Capital) and discovered that their phone system will not allow phone calls made outside of their facility's network to be completed. Based on this, an official demand for payment letter was sent to all responsible parties including the REIT (real estate investment trust) owner of the property, National Health Investors Inc of Murfreesboro and demand for payment has currently gone unanswered. It has now been 63 days with no refund or communication from Maybelle Carter, New Horizons, Eastlake Capital or National Health Investors Inc. At this point, because of this current financial situation, I'm more concerned with the well being of the residents because it does make me wonder what they're doing without. All that said, I would encourage anyone considering Maybelle as a future home for a loved one... or even a current resident who may run across this comment (unless it gets removed) to question heavily the current financial state of the operator.
Nice facility;
Mom chose Maybelle Carter herself for the community she wanted to live in. It is very homey and inviting with a living room off to the side of the lobby, with a T.V., games, and puzzles for the residents to engage in. There are also a lot of other organized activities that the staff encourages the residents to participate in. I think the food is good, my mom thinks it is sometimes too repetitious. The staff is friendly and caring and attentive to her care needs. Outside there is a patio area where they recently had a BBQ and grilled hamburgers to celebrate the eclipse. The landscaping is very nice and they have a nice garden where vegetables are growing. I would definitely recommend this community to friends and family.
We were given a nice tour of this community by the staff and everything was nice and clean and the residents appeared to be enjoying themselves there. We felt that this just was not the best fit for our mother and we were looking for something a little closer to us.
This was the first step in trying to integrate my mother into a community. Our experience with this community went very well. The staff, and the director were exceptional. The community looked great, everything was very nice, and clean. Unfortunately my mother was not ready to make the move into a facility, but this is a lovely community. I would recommend it to a friend.
