River Birch Estate Assisted Living
606 E Jackson Road Union MS 39365
The home was purchased in 2012 by Marty and Alisa Burkes of neighboring Philadelphia. They spent many months to fully restore the original hard wood floors and remodel, paint, and decorate the home to maximize a warm environment that we want our residents to feel proud to call home. There are many spacious porches and patios for the enjoyment of our residents during nice days, and are covered for even rainy day enjoyment. An opened house was held in early December 2012 and one day later, we opened our doors to our first resident.
Alisa Burkes is a Registered Nurse and has always felt that her heart has lead her in the direction of caring for the elderly. With the opening of River Birch, she has fulfilled one of her life long dreams. She and husband Marty Burkes have been married for 30 years and have two children, Chais and the late Maleiah Burkes.
Our staff is licensed and have had previous experience in working with the senior population.
Our facility has been licensed by the MS State Department of Health.
'We enjoy watching our residents not only survive under our care, but to thrive. I believe in the saying 'the youth are our future' but I also strongly believe that 'our elders hold the key to a successful future, without them, our youth have no role models to look up to'. We take the time to listen to and socialize with our residents. They often enjoy telling stories of past experiences, we owe it to them to listen and learn.'.... Angie Gray, Staff LPN.
