The staff really go out of their way to make the residents feel welcomed and comfortable. Just a few days after our loved one moved in, she had fallen and broken her femur. During her stay at the rehabilitation center the community was constantly reaching out to her and encouraging her to come back. When she did they had a big welcome sign for her. She absolutely loves the meals and dining service. She loves the yoga and different exercise classes in the mornings and bingo at night. They are also a pet friendly community. She is very happy there and it is a perfect fit.... Read more

I was not happy with Peregrine Shaker at all, they could have improved on a lot of things.

The community is alright, and better than others I have heard about. The staff has been good to work with the family and residents. There is a new chef on staff and the meals are improving for the residents, with more variety.
Good community, and felt institutional.
The community seems more like independent living than assisted living. There are activities but there is just no reminders or encouragement to participate. I would recommend this community to others if your loved one needed independent living.

September 16, 2021Hello, We value your feedback, and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
My tour at Atria Shaker was very good. All of the communities that I looked at were pretty similar in that they were all good places, with nothing of real concern at any of them. In the end it came down to floorplan of the apartments and accessibility to communal areas. And we chose a different community that met our preferences in those areas a little better.

September 16, 2021It was our pleasure to show you and your family our community. We send our best to you and your family.
We went with Atria because it was convenient as far as the location and they provided transportation necessary at the time he needed to the hospital for treatment. The facility met his needs and my brother liked it here. We had no complaints and I would recommend to others looking.

September 16, 2021Hi Harvey, We're happy to have your brother call Atria home. We appreciate your feedback!
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff is friendly, kind, and courtesy to the residents and families. During the pandemic they have limited visiting our loved one. The community is good at escorting my loved one out to meet me for appointments, and when we return the staff are great at the attentiveness towards my loved one. The community is clean and friends are impressed when they come visit my loved one.
The value offered in this community is better than others we have used. Having looked around I think atria has handled Covid very well and focused on the safety of the residence and communicating their reasoning behind those decisions. I would recommend this community to others based on our 6 months at the community.

September 16, 2021Thank you for your support of us throughout the pandemic. It means the world to us and to our team!
We had a positive experience when our loved one was there. The community was clean, the staff members were extremely friendly and they had good quality care services. Our loved one was happy with the meals and the variety of options to choose from. We also thought it was great value for the money.

September 16, 2021Your compliments mean the world to our team. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for choosing Atria.
Due to covid there was a serious disconnect with communication, when we would call and ask questions we would get a different person every time with a different answer. Our loved one did contract covid while she was there, and luckily it was a mild case but we had to take her out so she has been staying with us. They will not let her come back into the community unless she tests negative three times and quarantines for the 14 days which is confusing to us since the other Atria's guidelines are not like that. They also did not help explain the laundry schedule, house keeping schedule or activity schedule to her while she was there.

September 16, 2021Holly, Please know that we take your feedback seriously. Our highest priority is the well-being of our residents.
I would recommend Atria Shaker. The community is nice due to them letting my loved on bring pets in. The staff has been helpful. The food is good. The room is larger, than I had seen in other communities.

September 16, 2021Hi Michael, Our staff takes pride in going above and beyond for our residents and their furry family members. Thank you for sharing your kind compliments.
My mother has been living at Atria Shaker for about 8 months and so far it has gone quite well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good and the medicine she needs is delivered timely. All seems to be running smoothly. One of the big surprises was figuring out that the nurses on staff there are not allowed to do anything medically except provide prescription medicines. My mother fell once and had a big bruise with a small cut. They were unable to provide even an ice pack or neosporin without her doctors orders. It seems that some things should be able to be done such as the basic things you would do if you were home.

September 16, 2021Tess, It's been our pleasure to welcome your mom to our community. Your feedback is so important to us, so thank you for sharing your experience. Thank you for choosing Atria.
I toured the Atria while looking at different living options for my father-in-law. The staff was great. They were excellent at keeping us updated. I thought the community was nice, but we ultimately chose another one that we liked better.
We had a very nice tour of this community. It is a very nice facility with kind people. The tour went well, we did not have any problems. The community looked great, everything was very well-kept. The staff was very kind, and helpful. They treated us well, and all our questions were answered. It was not the right fit for my aunt, but we had a good tour overall.
At first they seemed very nice and helpful. Then I got a call on April 29, 2017, a Saturday, saying we needed to com in a sign a contract the next day (before the end of April) to take advantage of a "special price." We went, and they wanted $6,600 to hold the room at the "special price." In the course of the conversation the salesman and the director told us four times that if my mother could not make it for some reason (she ended up needing to be in a nursing facility, not assisted living) we would get the money back. A week later, after our mother went back to the doctor for more x-rays, it turned out her hip was not healed. When I called Atria and asked them to refund the money, they said they needed confirmation in writing from her doctor, a stipulation they never made in our conversations. Our mother was in a nursing home in the Bronx! We live in upstate NY and Pennsylvania! We didn't even know the name of the doctor who examined her! They kept saying they "know how hard this is" and then made it even harder! Ultimately we got the full refund.
I liked this community when I visited. The director was nice. the community looked clean and they offered daily activities. This community seemed more for assisted living and we were looking for independent living.
The tour went well. Colleen was very accommodating and gave us a thorough tour, including lunch. I left with a full picture of the facility and it looks like a good option for my sister.
My aunt is doing very well since her move to this community. They have a wonderful staff at this facility. They have been very caring, and helpful. It has been a positive experience working with the staff. They have complete menu available for the resident. She has gotten involved in a few of the activities they offer. She is pleased with the meals, the food is good. They are providing her with great care, and I would recommend this community.
Nice place, very clean. A bit expensive. Near a hospital.
