The top thing at Renew Saddle Rock is the medical care. The Physician's Assistant comes and does rounds every week if your loved one needs it. I like the mobile dentist that's there and the foot care they bring in. I really like the staff in general. The first person I met was the beautician, and I just loved her. But it turned out she's also part of the facility staff, and she's been really good to my mom, who often can't find her way back to her room. They're very kind about taking her back and saying "Oh it's this way. Do you know what part is next?" I've met the care director and have been pleased with that service that I didn't' know existed. The person who handles the meds is great too. I have been really pleased with the activities, and I especially love the activities director. She has made my mom feel very at home. She goes and picks her up and takes her to chapel services, and things like that are really important to me. We've only had experience at one other facility, and here at Renew Saddle Rock, we're paying less yet getting a ton more services.

Saddle Rock Memory Care is a stand-alone Memory Care Community who has set themselves apart as an expert in dementia. Our home-like environment lends itself to maintaining each residents health, happiness and freedom of movement.
Our community was built on one level surrounding two courtyards and the ability to walk around without barriers, while being completely safe. Our founders, managers and staff treat our residents and their family members like our own family in an environment of COMPASSION, DIGNITY and COMFORT.
There are unlimited opportunities for socialization during community engagement, dining and just walking the environment and conversing with team members. Some of the specialties that set us apart from other communities are:

It came down to Renew Saddle Rock and another facility for us. This seemed like a really great place and we had a good tour experience. The only reason we went with the other facility was because Saddle Rock did not have any private rooms available at the time and that is what we were looking for.

Great fit for mom
The food is awesome especially compared to her last facility, they are all chef prepared meals. She does a mind diet so everything is fresh. They have a lot of great activities hey have art classes, a chapel, places to sit all over the place, a movie room, etc. They used to have something calling "cooking with [name removed]" and the residents would be able to help her cook and they really enjoyed that. I can call with a concern and they will call the doctor for me and arrange what needs to be done, they are great with communication. I feel that the entire staff is so loving. They have had minimal turnover and even when they are short staffed, her care does not lack. I would highly recommend Renew Saddle Rock to others looking.

Renew Saddle Rock is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. They were much more expensive than we could afford, but I think that is because they handle more levels of care.

I Wouldn't Recommend Renew Right Now
They recently have lost the Executive Director, Head Nurse, and some other staff.
They have a calendar of events and they aren't doing some of the activities listed on the calendar.
There is a TV for church services on Sunday, but my loved one has never been taken down for this. I have asked repeatedly for this to be done.
I would say not to go there. I am going to start to look for a new community for my loved one.
They ended up bringing my loved one to another area of the community.
I've never received a letter from the new Executive Director letting me know that they are there.
My loved one called me, and they don't feel safe anymore.
The residents on the memory care floor has been allowed to wonder around. One of the residents came and touched a family member during a visit with our loved one. My family member has even asked for privacy and the residents just sit down during the visit.
Before the Executive Director left, it was much better with the service. I had a direct contact with a nurse. Now the staff won't communicate with me at all.
As a follow up after my meeting with the Executive Director, she informed me that they will be hiring more staff. The Vice President spoke to me about a family member with the residents being to close. He let me know that this isn't supposed to be occurring. He put me at ease with all my concerns, and is currently interviewing for a Wellness Director. The Vice President is going to assign a Care Coordinator to my loved one to assist with any concerns and provide feedback to this Coordinator.

Our move-in was just prior to the quarantine of senior living facilities. The staff has been amazing. They helped with set up after we were no longer able to visit and they help with all the small tasks that I am no longer able to do.
Any time I have a question, I know I can call, text or e-mail and I will have a very timely response.
My mother often says they are so nice to me here. They arrange window visits and Face time visits whenever I request them.

Review of Renew at Saddle Rock
I toured the community for my dad. He has Alzheimer's and needs placement in the future. I had heard some not so great things. However, was pleasantly surprised at what I found. No orders, clean residents and a friendly staff. [Name removed] reception met me at the door and I immediately felt like my dad would be a good fit.

Very nice facility. Very clean and nicely decorated. More independent and assistant living residents. Memory Care seemed by itself in a smaller area. Only saw one staff member cleaning dishes but I was told there was a 1 to 10 ratio. Great amenities for Independent and Assistant Living.

Peregrine - a new faciity to consider
The care takers at Peregrine are excellent. They truly care about the residents. Activities for the residents are mixed to include mental, social, and physical challenges - a good balance. Although the sales person said that Comcast was available for the residents, it still has not been installed and this has been a disappointment. There has been some turnover of staff that is disconcerting as well.
Peregrine is very good at including family members in activities.
It would be good if they had a standard meeting with individual families at least quarterly to review what is going on.

I did not like this community. They did not have enough staff to take care of the residents. The director did not know what was going on with the staff. My father's care was badly. The community was clean and very beautiful. They did not take care of his personal care. My father was left alone and his care was the worse. I can not recommend this community to anyone for care

Care and kindness for mom
This is a nice community for care. We like the cleanliness of the community. The menu is nice and a good variety of meals. We do wish that they had phones in the room so that I can call. She is able to have cable and we find that helpful. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

A Home away from Home
I had to put my husband into a Respite facility while I traveled out of town. This is a new facility and has the feel of a lodge. There is no TV in the bedroom because they encourage the residents to socialize with other residents or staff. All rooms are wired for TV if necessary, but this works really well. When I got back in town I immediately stopped by to let my husband know I was back, and there was a large group of residents around a big table having a pizza party. There are a lot of areas for groups or family to sit around a TV or a cozy area by the fireplace or game tables. I can't say enough about this facility.
