lack of a sense of urgency
I went to rehab a broken knee. I caught covid while there. After which I woke up 1 day paralyzed, from the waist down.Informed nursing supervisor. My PC was never informed. Next day paralyzed from the chest down. Transferred to LGH who transferred me to Tufts Medical Center. Upon arrival I was sent for an MRI. I had a broken neck at T2--T3 which I did during my sleep. Emergency surgery scheduled and performed. Surgeon stated if I waited any longer the prognosis would not have been positive. The staff is a mixture of good caring people and those who just want a paycheck who seemed to be in the majority. Night shift could be heard having extended conversations while call lights blared and patients yelling for a nurse. . Often it took 30 minutes to respond 30 feet or less. . I was a chef for 12 years. I had a hard time identifying what was served. I lost 25 LBS during 4 weeks the food was that inedible. I only had 4 therapy sessions during my stay

Terrible!
My mother was supposed to go into rehab-from the hospital Instead they put her in the nursing home section and said there wasn’t room in the rehab unit. The next day I was told because she was in the nursing unit she didn’t get any Ot or PT that she was supposed to get I took her out that day and now I received a letter saying we owe over$[removed]!! My mother is in another nursing home and now has stage 4 dementia they still want her money! Terrible way to treat people.

about Palm Manor

Palm Manor offers Private and Semi-Private. Learn more.

A Place for Mom has scored Palm Manor 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
