Pleasant Surprise- Mount Pleasant Gardens
When I was looking around for a place two years ago, this was the cleanest one that I came across. It is still clean and organized. The staff keeps me well informed of happenings and/or issues. They use flyers, emails, texts, phone calls, in person. I have not received a carrier pigeon or smoke signal yet from them. The majority of the staff is very friendly and polite. There is a courtyard in the middle of the facility where residents walk and plant flowers or vegetable plants if they like, of course with supervision. I would highly recommend this facility.

Disappointing experience
My dad was diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia 3 years ago. We wanted to keep him home as long as we could, but eventually, we couldn’t manage him at home. We spent months visiting facilities to determine which would provide the best care from him. We chose Mount Pleasant Gardens, because we were sold on a family feel and quality care. We are giving 2 stars, because some of the employees and the activities director/assistants are outstanding. The activities people are trying hard to provide a variety of activities for the residents.
We knew that no place would be perfect, but we did expect a certain standard of care. In our 7 months at Mt Pleasant Gardens, we saw many things that caused us concern in the level of care being provided. Overall, there is a lack of professionalism and respect for the residents and their families. I’m addition, it seems that many employees are not properly trained on how to care for residents with dementia and mobility issues. Often during our visits, employees were sitting on their phones and didn’t even acknowledge us being there. We asked ourselves-if they aren’t attentive when we are here, how bad is it when we aren’t? The strict visiting hours concerned us as well. We were made to believe we could only visit during visiting hours, and were not treated well if we came early or stayed late. We now know that we legally have a right to visit 24 hours per day. We brought several concerns to management, but never felt they were truly addressed. We lost confidence in the managements’ ability to ensure quality care and we felt we had no other option but to move our dad to another facility. We are very pleased with the new facility and have seen a huge improvement in Dad’s mobility and attitude. We have chosen not to provide a laundry list of concerns on online review sites, but we have addressed those concerns to the upper management of Mount Pleasant Gardens, and hope that they will be working to improve the experience so that other families and residents don’t have similar experiences.

Outstanding memory care
The facility is the most caring and well run place. My loved one has since passed but it was hands down the place my siblings and loved having her there. I would recommend to others, their approach to memory care is fantastic.

Wonderful experience with Mt Pleasant Gardens
It's been a very positive experience. We picked this community, because I had a better "feeling" about it; staff super-friendly and had less turnover in staff. I would recommend this community to other families.

Mount Pleasant Gardens was a very nice place. The facility focuses solely on memory care residents. The staff seemed to be very caring and friendly. The downfall was that there were a lot of residents here and I thought it would have stressed my mother out.

The best place for a family member with dementia
We chose Mount Pleasant Gardens because I felt that the program would suit my mom the best. I felt the way they cycled their activities every 2 hours would keep her engaged. It is also a smaller community which is something that we wanted. The administrator really truly cared and I was thoroughly impressed. I would not have been able to design a team of staff members better myself. I would highly recommend them to others families who are looking.

Home away from home
We chose this community because of the homey feeling. We also like that the residents all have the same diagnosis. They have more freedom here and it does not seem so institutionalized. they have a courtyard that they can go out and visit whenever they want. The room sizes are great, my mother in law has a corner room so its a little more spacious, but all the rooms seem to have great storage. The food was good, she does not complain so she seems happy with it. Our favorite part about this facility in general is that we know she is safe. I told her I would not put her anyplace that I wouldn't go and I would move in here in a minute. It is great for peace of mind. I have recommend this community.

First Class Memory Care Facility
My husband has lived in Mt. Pleasant Gardens since they opened last summer. I highly recommend it for anyone with Alzheimer's or dementia issues. The staff is professional, yet warm and caring. The many daily activities are geared to each patient's ability. And the facility is truly beautiful -- with a gorgeous enclosed garden.
Management is accessible, and ready to hear any request or concern.
If you have the misfortune of a loved one suffering from dementia, you will at least be comforted by the care he or she receives at Mount Pleasant Gardens.

I would strongly recommend MPG. There staff went above and beyond for my great grandma and my family every day and even after her passing. It feels like a home and not any other elderly care facility. The staff truly cares about each resident and treats them like family. Families are always welcomed and treated with the highest respect and are taken care of. In my great grandmas final days the staff went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. I would strongly recommend MPG to anyone looking for memory care for their loved one.

Good Care for Mom!!
My mom has been in Mount Pleasant Gardens since the second week they have opened. It has a been a great experience so far and I know my mom is being well cared for and safe. They have all kinds of activities for them to do and they really do care!!!!!
